From the looks of things here at Destructoid, many of you are hot and bothered over Capcom's upcoming 2D brawler, Tatsunoko VS Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes. We are too. This epic cross-up pits the heroes of popular Japanese animation studio Tatsunoko against the beloved characters of Capcom's world. Now we learn that Tatsunoko VS Capcom will be coming from the arcade to the Wii... in Japan.
Thanks to N4G, we have these scans that confirm hot Wii action for TvsC, listing a date of December 11th for Japan. A new new playable characters were also announced, including the PTX-40A from Capcom's Lost Planet.
I think it's safe to say that, due to licensing reasons, this title will never come to the US. But that won't stop importers, right? Would you import this title?

A) I knew it played like Marvel Vs. Capcom
B) I knew anything about Tatsunoko
I don't have a wii (no interest in it), but I have a friend that does. I guess we no to go old school homebrew on the wii, to get this game to work. We are not going to buy a japanese wii, thats ridiculous. Actually its not, I just want an excuse to modify a wii.
COPIED GAMES 4 LIFE, GANGSTAAAAAAA
Anyway, I don't like the idea of it being on the wii, just like I find Guilty Gear Accent Core on the wii as the most atrocious act every committed.
I don't want motion controls for my fighting games, and I don't want to use the gimped Classic Controller.
But I'm a sucker for fighting games, heck I bought the loli-licious fighting game Arcana Hearts.
Copied Games, Wii-loader, and Pirating here I come!
DAAAAAAAAAAAAMN YOU ALL TO HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLL!
Because I will actually enjoy playing it on the wii, if there are.
Capcom....you better be releasing a limited edition arcade stick for the release, or I'm going to eat babies with my frosted flakes.
No need for modding.
Sorry for the outburst then.
Hey I'm going to pickup the 360 version of SF4 (mainly because my ps3 just died on me and its out of warranty), but of course I'm not going to use the 360's horrible d-pad (god I hate that dpad). I"m buying that crazy limited edition SF4 stick, assuming its based on the fighting stick ex2 model. If it's not I will be filled with rage.
This business has me FUMING. Despite the slightly dated graphics, I hoped and hoped and hoped that this would come out for the PS3, so that a smooth, simple import would be in my future. Sadly this is not the case.
But at least this way, everyone can 'try it out' it if it stays in Japan.
Also, I count on this coming to the states with altered graphics as (some comicbook company) Vs Capcom. There is very little chance Capcom would pass up on all the sweet, depriecated American dollars to be made of localizing this sucker.
I'll even go one further by saying I think this game will do better than SFIV. Marvel VS Capcom 2 sure did a lot better than SFIII.
However, I think the Tatsunoko properties would pretty much generate blank stares from the general american audience.
Ah well, at least this gives Capcom an excuse to ring up WayForeword and have Shantae in any Vs Marvel retool that could ensue.
Didn't Capcom just say that they were going multi-platform when possible?
Man, I need to find a way to import...
i was happy til it said for Wii...
c'mon !!
Tatsunoko vs Capcom and Street Fighter 3 for the PS3 !!!!!!
Make up your minds.
As for me, I need a modded Wii as it is for Captain Rainbow and Fatal Fram IV. this game will just be another to add to my import collection.
Capcom are making a lot of money on Wii, basicly because few really have the balls to commit to it. RE4 done well, Dead Rising and Sengoku Basara are on the way to it soon.
What you guys don't see, is that Capcom are testing the water with this game. TvsC will do okay in japan, being very japan centric. Capcom will be watching and listening to our cries about this game, just like they did with Phoenix Wright. This will result in us getting it eventually, especially so if it becomes an import hit.
If you have a Wii, check out that Nyko Wingman to play it.
And if you really want to make your voice heard, join Capcom's forums, let them know you want this game enough, and they'll surely deliver. I'd be surprised if PS3 and 360 didn't get TvsC later. TvsC is going to Wii really because SFIV, SSF2T are already going onto PS3 and 360 very soon (next to RE5, Dark Void etc.
It's coming to the Wii because it's always been a Wii game to begin with. See that top section? It's powered by a Wii board in the arcade machine itself.
That looks damn good for a Wii board.
