So, we've all seen what happens when Jonathan Holmes goes around Talking To Women About Video Games, but what happens when I'm alone. In my apartment. Talking to video games. About women. Alone.
This is just something I threw together in my spare time. Haven't really decided if I wanna do more or not. Lemme know what you guys think!

I thought the tweet was wrong! Max if you can come up with the material for this then you should do it. I find this lazy parody of Holmes' feature likeable.
I wanted you Last Remnant, I wanted you bad. At face value, you showed me everything I loved in my past RPGs, wrapped up in a pretty little bow, But most importantly, you were here now. I got to know you, I had you, I learned all your tricks and quirks. For hours we'd go, and while I never really smiled with you, I never frowned either. You'd made some bad choices, and you let them hold you back, even after I forgave you.
I'm telling you this last remnant, because you remind me of a girl. You promised me so much more than you were too terrified to give.
i didn't think i would find this funny but your delivery is spot-on. keep it up, i'd love for this to gain traction and for a TTWAVG/TTVGAW crossover to happen someday.
To expand on my previous comment. As a parody of TtWAVG it would be better as a one off but if you could keep on coming up with comparisons between games and your problems then it could be brilliant.
Yeah, she probably doesn't beat him enough in their apartment where they live together because they're an actual couple. He needs a real woman who will thrash all questioning motive out of his sick mind.
Expect some backlash for that, although I found it funny considering it went against the tone of the vid and came out of nowhere, had me laughing.
I wouldn't mind more of these so long as you don't try to outdo yourself to the point of felling forced, I could also see a bit of a grin on your face throughout the vid, if you could do it with a complete straight face I would be much more enjoyable.
Really nice, man. Ran a tiny bit long (my take) but I was already sold on the title alone and all of the little touches (the opening, your look, choice of game, etc) really made this a damn funny video.
Final Fantasy X, we've both said and done a lot of things we regret. Remember when you had Tidus laughing like a crazed seagull, the horror of Blitzball and that fucking dragon in the cave that kept healing itself no matter how many times I casted reflect and poisoned myself? I've tried to remember the good times with Auron, Lulu, Rikku, Wakka and Kilhimari, the campy villain and the revelation of the dream city of Zanarkand - but then I remember you left me with an annoyingingly cheerful blonde surf-boy of a character and his blander than bland love interest, Yuna, and I know why I threw down the controller. You were my first Final Fantasy, and you have indelibly marked me for better and for worse.
But I found a new love, her name was Final Fantasy IV. Sure, she's older, some might say seasoned, but she enthralls and surprises me at every turn with her intelligent design and her sense of sublime adventure. She takes me away from myself in ways you never could and gives me fulfilment. So I guess what I want to say is goodbye, and I hope you can find someone who can forgive your flaws and love you for who you truly are.
I saw it yesterday when you posted it on youtube and I was pleasantly surprised, not only by your acting skills, but also by how brilliant the concept is. I wouldn't say it's funny in the sense that it makes you laugh out loud (or for me, at least) but definitely makes you smile.
The scary thing is if you scaled this back just a little bit, cut the music and if Holmes' show hadn't come before hand, this could very easily be passed off as a genuine student goth arthouse short. I mean, jokes aside, this actually is a pretty good example of the style.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I'm glad I didn't.
I need moar of this.

someday...
I'm helpful.
Also I liked it. The music gave the whole thing a serial killer vibe. Or maybe you just have a serial killer vibe.
Weirdly enough, someone made a song about this very thing just a few days before Max made the video. I love that too!
