When Destructoid's Steven Hansen previewed Spec Ops: The Line back in February, he notably enjoyed its emphasis on narrative and atmosphere, adding that it looked to be "the necessary antithesis to the chest beating military shooter genre."
So, when Max had the chance to sit down last week with the game's lead writer, Walt Williams, he was curious to learn about the motivations behind the sequel and its shift to a more story-driven direction. In the meantime, look out for Destructoid's Spec Ops: The Line review sometime tomorrow morning!
of all choices, i am still intrigued as to who or why would pick Duke Nukem Forever as an incentive to get this on Steam.
i mean really, DKF? i asumed they would had all their copies buried un a giant hole somewhere in the desert, hoping that no one would ever remember such thing existed.
I really wanted to pick this up tomorrow... but wound up re-purchasing a few games I used to have instead. I definitely plan on picking up The Line within 2 weeks.
I guess this is just me, but this seems like a rent title. I mean, it sounds fantastic, but besides multiplayer(which some of us dislike) I'm just not detecting a lot of replay value here.
It's hard to pay attention to the plot when the dialogue is so god awful. This game just continues to play into stereotypes and the combination of poor controls, lackluster story, and ho-hum presentation means it gets a pass from me. My opinion is based solely on the demo which failed to capture any interest from me or anyone I have shown it to.
@Joshua
I just played the demo and I completely agree. This was seriously a buy the book third person shooter demo. Nothing stuck out, and the jokes are frign painful. Looks like I'll be buying Spider-man tomorrow.
