Looks great! Abyss is one of my favorite Tales games.

One question though, do you know if the "New game plus" is different from the PS2 version?

Can't wait. Never played the PS2 version and i heard it had had horrible load times. NP said they've been vastly improved.

It's less a remake and more a port with enhanced graphics, as far as I'm aware. (They're not adding any features that I'm aware of, even wireless or local multiplayer, which is a shame.)

Though, I /am/ really excited. I love the Tales games and would love to have a portable one. I have Tales of Innocence, but my Japanese isn't quite up to par for it yet.

meh it is just lazy ass port with 3d gimmick, the only reason namco bring this is because no competition in 3ds and they could get quick easy money since they didn't need to do any localizaton effort anymore.

I'm happy to get it, even though the main character Luke is one of the few characters in any medium that I hate with a burning passion.

I missed out on this one and I love playing RPG's on handhelds, so you can bet your arse I'm getting this.

Hmm. I own tales of the abyss, I put about 20hours or so into it and I can honestly say that I found it rather dull compared to some of the other Tales games. Now to be fair, I never beat it and 20hours is probably barely scratching the surface of the game but I found it very hard to get interested in it.

Tales of Phantasia and Tales of Destiny are two of my favorite games on their respective systems (SNES/PS1) and I bought Tales of Symphonia on day 1 (didn't ever pick up the ToS2 though)

Maybe I'm just pineing for something that will never happen, but I wish they'd return to the original 2D style of Destiny/Phantasia. I loved the combat from those games far more than I do with Abyss or Symphonia.

And now I have that game that makes me want a 3DS.

Excited and meh all at once. If it actually makes it to the states yay, if not it's going to seem like another Tales game that most never got to play. Think I'll just go play it on my PS2 again before I get my hopes up. Can never have enough playthroughs of Tales games!

I'm done with Namco until they release something new and exciting again.

Part of me hopes the skits are voice acted now too.

Another part of me knows that it's not happening. The bigger news was Japan getting all the features we got in our PS2 version release. We're essentially getting a direct port.

I mean, I'll bite if it gets Namco to actually support the series in the U.S., since aside from some quirky anime humor, the Tales of games usually have solid gameplay via their battle systems.

Tales of the Abyss was all right. Too much backtracking though, but I'm a weenie who can't play JRPGs like I used to.

Awesome, definitely a buy for me. I've always wanted to play Abyss, but the PS2 version is a tad bit expensive.

I don't feel like playing abyss again, if it's only a port.

Its bad that I will probably get a 3DS for a game I have played the shit out of and still own for the ps2....

Believe it or not I just started owning a PS2 last year and got less than 10 games so far, so yes there are people out there who missed out big time in a lot of games.

I for one am super excited just bring it over Nintendo.

Is the new game + like it was on Tales of Symphonia? That was my favorite implementation of new game + for any game.
