The only thing new with this will be the addition of 3D, correct? Ah, well, I'll still pick it up since Abyss is my favorite Tales game.
Nice. Never did get a chance to play Abyss seeing as Bamco loves not making money for some reason (who wants to bet that out of the next 3 Tales games they make, we'll only see one ever localized for the West?). Finally get to find out what the other Tales fans have been talking about this whole time.
Even though I hated most of the cast in Abyss, I'm definitely going to get this when it comes out here; provided I have a 3DS by then.
Hmm... I think that I like the idea of the Tales games, but I'm not sure that I actually like the games. If that makes any sense.
Question: if I kind of enjoyed the gameplay and combat in Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Vesperia but had a hard time getting through both games because I detested the story, characters, and dialogue, will I probably have similar feelings about Abyss? Because if so, I'll probably just pass.

Seraphy: I'd still buy it without the 3D. I found what I played of it on the PS2 to be enjoyable. And I'm buying in hopes of getting other Tales games...

Yes sir, you certainly will.
I should note, for those not familiar with Tales games, they do have a very 'anime-ish' style and story. However.....it's a light-fantasy style that doesn't take itself overly serious. There's some standard anime drama, but it's not the angsty, over-blown stuff of Star Ocean or the most recent FF. The Tales series is like my AC/DC-Motorhead of the JRPG world, always kinda' the same, but always fun as hell.

I'm sure we wont get it, considering the voice actors have probably all moved on, but if Namco managed to get all the skits voiced for the US this time around I would be deeply grateful. I guess a Japanese voice-track is asking too much, I just find the silent skits far too creepy to enjoy. They should be voiced OR I should be able to read them at my own speed. Instead I have to sit watching jabbering faces, and it gets weird.
As usual no EU release, im so tired of missing so many games that are already in English but only released in NA. grr stupid region locking.
I came when I heard Takehito Koyasu's voice. If the 3DS wasn't region locked, I'd buy the game in Japanese just for him (AND in English once it got a US release). Now Nintendo won't get my money twice for the same game because of their stupid region lock. Now excuse me I'll go sulk on a corner for a bit.
Super stoked for this. One of my favorite things about the DS was the steady supply of quality JRPGs. Hoping this trend continues with the 3DS
