Are you one of those people gagging for an HD Wii? According to publisher Take-Two, the wait is almost over, since Sony has us covered!
"What Sony and Microsoft have really done with Kinect and Move, especially Move, is provide a bridge for guys that are used to playing the Wii system with the wand and bringing them over to a HD system," says CEO Ben Feder. "The PS3 with Move, in my view, is the Wii HD system. I think maybe mom isn't playing, but the kids are graduating, and Microsoft and Sony have both provided a bridge to bring them over."
I disagree with that statement, mostly for the fact that people wanted an HD Wii to see better looking versions of Nintendo franchises. Acting like Move meets the demand for an HD Wii represents a sad attitude I've noticed in the industry -- the attitude that seems to think copying hardware is enough.
Software is what is important, and when Move gets experiences that match Super Mario Galaxy and The Legend of Zelda or even Kirby's Epic Yarn, then we can call it the Wii HD.
Take-Two: PS3 Move is "Wii HD" [Edge]

"I'm looking forward to getting my hands on Move and a copy of Sports Champions"
Ouch. Sorry about that.
I don't see Sony forcing motion controls on us anytime soon.
So Nintendo still have the games that keep their fans loyal and Move may not be Wii HD but since Nintendo is not giving gamers what they want they're going to turn to Sony. the majority of gamers enjoy motion control gaming but there are many of them who are turned away by Wii's lack of power.
I think Nintendo has to enter the HD market yesterday! they are losing time and buyers, the Wii has not fared very well in 2010.
This.
The Move looks like it's going to tighten up the experience given to gamers with the Wii, and at the same time the Move tech should also provide developers with the ability to create new things they weren't able to do on the Wii.
Do they honestly think that they're going to just jump ship over to the MOVE and have the same success as they did on the Wii? Yeah right, good luck trying to sell Carnival Games HD. You will be lucky if it sells 400,000 units on the PS3, at alone the almost 4 million units that you sold on the Wii!
The only games that are great examples of motion control are minigame collections (like Wii Sports resort). Odds are as you read that you rolled your eyes, or won't take mini game collections seriously (I wouldn't blame you). However it's pretty much impossible to make a triple A game that hardcore gamers won't scoff at if it has more motion controls than a few gestures. What I'm getting at is, even if the move's tech is better, it's still going to be minigame collections, or just a few gesture gimmicks here or there.
Looks like I'm getting exactly what I want on Friday!
@llort het
I'm more than happy with the OPTION of Move controls in my AAA exclusive titles thank you very much. Games don't have to be Move only to count towards awesome support.
As someone says, too many Wii games don't need motion controls and with the Move offering the OPTION of Move or Dualshock, surely everyone's happy right?
Apparently not.
I just noticed that I've got Eyepet in my collection, forgot about that, apparently it's getting a Move patch too rather than a new version! - Awesome!
Haha. Very cute. But you did say what i would have said. The Move is making the bridge for Wii users to cross over to the awesome gaming experience of the Playstation 3.
Please don't talk about "kiddie shit on the wii" and then talk about how awesome eyepet is. It's sickeningly biased
Here is a fun game for everyone. let's all try to find a promotional picture of the game eyepet that doesn't feature children (or the children's parents)
I bet you're going to lose!
not http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjEHIUO0iK8
Speaking for myself, I will probably get this if it's bundled with Heavy Rain (I actually delayed my purchase to see how this pans out) or if a neat way of shooting and stabbing Helghast in the eye is provided for KZ3 - light pistol, or preferably, rifle.
BTW: sexual choc-your idea of "kiddie games" makes zero sense due to the fact that nintendo first party games are for the family and the majority that play it are over the age of 18. Oh, and you have eye pet??? what? I hate to say it, but sometimes your bias comments make me want to burn my ps3. This is again-why i wish there was a site of 'gamers' and no fanboys.
@Mathew Blevins-i concur with you 100% especially your God of war comment.

does this one count?
Move is my same 'roided Dreamcast, but with in a GUNDAM.
The Playstation Move is like a Dreamcast on steroids in a giant mecha.
@ Matthew Blevins
I'm a core gamer. I dont really enjoy the wii first party titles. I have nuthin against them, i just dont find that cuetsy [kidde in sexualchocolates comment] style appealing.
Personally, I think the whole console war comes down to the people that play the console. Not the actual hardware.
Nintendo fans like nintendo because they like the type of game it offers.
Playstation fans like playstation because they like the type of game it offers.
Xbox fans have mental difficulties.. joke. you get the picture.
But at the same time, this thinking pisses me off. I have the 3 major consoles, and can assure you, I still haven't had an experience of pure fun on the 2 HD behemoths that could rival Mario Galaxy 2. Apart from maybe Ninja Gaiden 2. And to all the people who say 'I don't like Nintendo 1st party titles', what are you, soul less? On top of that, there are plenty of other hardcore experiences on the Wii (Madworld, No More Heroes, Red Steel 2, COD, Resi, Dead Space, Monster Hunter, Tiger Woods, Pro Evo, etc). If you wanted, at this stage in it's life it could be your only console and you would still be set for every game type. Ultimately, it just seems like a sales strategy by Take Two, as the only games they put on the Wii are ususally crappy mini game compilations via 2K. So, what reason have they got to be nice about the Wii.
Yeah, as much as I hate llort het, he's got a point about the whole "kiddy shit on the Wii" and then liking Eyepet.
God, why do I even bother reading the comments sections on here anymore? What the hell happened?
Saying you like EyePet and saying you don't like 'kiddie games' just makes no sense and is just proof of your fanboyism.
I've been able to play some Wii games and the ones that I actually liked are the ones that don't force the motion controls.
New SMB was really good because it had good normal controls and just had some gestures that didn't break the gameplay. Super Mario Galaxy is another great example.
And you know, those are not M-rated games but are amazingly fun.
To me, motion control (and 3D) are still just too gimmicky the way they are right now, they should wait for the technology to advance a bit more. OR they should try to use those technologies in a good way, not just: "Flail your arms insanely to open a door" or "Look! Bullets are coming towards you! WOW!" (3D)
I have a few buddies who are getting it for the fact that it is "Wii HD" one peson is waiting to get the PS3 bundle for that "Wii HD" fact as well and they both own HD TV's. I'm in the same boat as they are.
