Take a peek at Ghostbusters: The Video Game's opening photo

Desperate to get your hands on Ghostbusters? Trust me, I'm right there with you -- that short demo I played at last year's San Diego Comic Con was nowhere near enough. Gametrailers has an exclusive sneak peek at the game's opening cinematic posted now, so if you'd like to go watch that to ease the pain of waiting a bit, hit the jump and take it all in.

The voice acting sounds pretty solid, which is a relief. Considering that Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis are behind the game's script, I feel we can rely on some good laughs and a solid story for the game version of the beloved film series.

Also, watching that opening cinematic kind of makes me want to get up and dance at the end. I get hyped whenever I hear the Ghostbusters theme song, because I am a huge nerd.

I'm still on the fence over this game. I really hate to think it, but this seems to me like it's going to be only slightly better than the standard movie cash in game. Of course, it shouldn't be like that since it's a little bit late to technically be a movie cash in. I just haven't seen anything conclusive enough to swing me one way or the other.

As of right now, it's just a rental for me.

The credits say that Ramis and Akroyd are behind the script, but don't be fooled: Ramis did an interview with MTV Multiplayer saying that the two "writers" merely "consulted" on the script. They didn't write it.
This is the same thing that Namco did with the release of Afro Samurai, where they said the music was "by the RZA" of Wu Tang Fame. Don't be fooled! The music was "inspired" by the RZA, and completed by a different musician.

Hmm... getting a feeling that this is going to be cheesy at best... kind of like the movie. Which seems both familiar and comforting.

Go get 'em.

Dammit, now my pants fit funny.

I bet I could put my hands on my old GB toys in less than a minute after hitting the basement. Never could bring myself to get rid of them.
