Take a look at the Prince of Persia movie and Jake's abs photo

Jerry Bruckheimer sat down with that guy from 7th Heaven (I think) for an interview on the upcoming Prince of Persia movie starring Brad Nicholson Jake Gyllenhaal. Some of the plot is discussed, the love interest is shown and we catch a glimpse of some of the action scenes.

After watching this new footage for the Prince of Persia movie, I am convinced that Jerry Bruckheimer is in love with Jake Gyllenhaal. Am I the only one that noticed that Jerry's face was glowing when the host asked about Jake? Broke Back Mountain: More Broke Backs starring those two is in the works for sure.

What do you guys and gals think? Is the Prince of Persia movie going to suck or could it possibly be good? We'll find out for sure when the film hits theaters on July 10, 2010. Hit the break to check out the new footage.

This footage looks ridiculous, like a fake movie from Entourage.
Lmao, Bruckheimer's first comment about Jake is how he's handsome.

I think as something to adapt to PoP it's going to suck.

I also dislike Jake Gcan'tbothertospellhisname so I think it's going to suck anyway.

I have little faith in this movie. I was a huge fan of the games but just hearing part of the movie's story makes it not even feel like Prince Of Persia.

Damn, I was finding the 'I'm maturbating' face Jake pulled in one of the screenshots of the film, instead I found this:

Oh, internet, how I love thee.

Looks almost a generic and boring as the PoP games.

Almost.

The PoP games are amazing. You shut yur mouth, pokermanluver!

Also, I'll see this movie. I mean, the PoP stories are always simple enough for a movie. Why can't this one work?

PoP is amazing. And, the movie will be like all other movies based on video games. Did you really expect more?

Also, Jesus christ, he's ripped.

This movie has the slightest chance of not sucking, mostly due to Jordan Mechner working on an early draft of the script.

I think the trend of one-line PoP film posts should be continued, just to piss people off.

PoP is amazing, if you are amazed with stuff that is not at all amazing.

Or maybe I'm wrong. I actually don't really know, as I haven't really played any of the games since the PS2 days. I can't even approach them anymore. They all just look so... swashbuckling.

I was cautiously optimistic about this movie until I watched this footage. I have since lost all hope that it could be good. Jake looks dumb, Bruckheimer is an asshole, the plot strays too far, etc. The whole thing looks like a joke.

Looking at this movie I would have guessed it was Action Film number 525,600. Nothing to me screams "Hey your watching a movie about the Prince of Persia." Also in in the games he always starts off as a prince, hell in Sands of Time you even hear people refer to him as one.

Spam comments! iapp needs to be shot.

You can't really judge what a movie will actually look like by a behind the scenes one minute movie, as some people seem to think. At least, last time I checked. Besides, Gyllenhaal's movies are pretty good for the most part, and I like that time-frame, so we'll see.

Wait... so it's The Scorpion King... Again?

I'm so confused, I didn't see anything in that movie that let me know if a Prince, or Persia was involved :|

Jake does NOT fit the part at all. I just keep laughing when I watch him trying to act like the prince. He's just not rugged or badass enuff.

Damn, those are some nice abs.

I was pleasantly surprised by Star Trek, so I'll give this one a chance. Might not be a good "Prince of Persia" movie, but it still could be a good movie. :)

ScottyG: Are you daft?

There is nothing from those 5 seconds of movie footage that says it'll be a good movie.

And Star Trek has nothing to do with this.

I almost feel like they over did it with his buffness. He's way too buff. They should have made him less buff. He looks too slow with all that buff going on.

Also, buff.

@Holmes
POP (PS2/XBOX) Sands of Time was fairly generic imo, but a decent game, and the time rewind was "OMG cool" back in the day.

POP 2 sucked. Hard. They tried to XTREME it with horrible metal music, but it didn't work out quite as well as DMC3, plus the game wasn't any fun.

POP Two Thrones was a pretty good action title; I enjoyed it a ton.

The new POP was..well..I had mixed feelings, but overall the experience was great.

Overall, I still vastly prefer the original Prince of Persia PC/SNES version.

@Mushman
Best picture ever.

I second that Magnalon, Mushman thank you for that picture, it reeks of awesomeness.

As for a POP movie. I honestly had no idea. When I saw this on the front page I was quite excited. Then I realised Jake Gcan'tbebotheredtospellhisname (thanks TewDee) was in it an I cried inside...

He's a terrible actor in my honest opinion and now I've thought about it they're just going ruin another game series by making an awful film.

And Chronic you're right he doesn't suit him at all. For a start I swear he's meant to have a British accent, not sure though, as that's how I've always portrayed him.

I've just realised the detail on that Will Smith/POP film poster, one of the reviews said "Full of Turkish delight" XD that made me laugh

I can't help but now I've got the song in my head I've started thinking of lyrics for it the POP version.
