We've been talking a lot about Binary Domain on Destructoid as we approach the February 28 release date. I actually have some hope for this game that it won't just be yet another forgettable third-person shooter experience. I'm definitely going to play the single-player due to my giant soft spot for cyberpunk tales.
What I won't touch is the multiplayer, however. Not because it's bad or anything, but investing in a non-AAA title's multiplayer feels like a waste of time. Even some AAA titles that tack on multiplayer modes end up being pointless to invest in. When's the last time you thought about playing Dead Space 2's or BioShock 2's multiplayer mode?
In any case, here's a new trailer focused on the multiplayer features of Binary Domain. Looks like just about every other standard third-person shooter multiplayer. eh?
Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

MP like this is a complete waste of resources. It doesn't seem to do anything that already isn't being done ad nauseum, and as such the community will die in weeks, if one ever forms at all. You'd think after nearly 6 years of this scenario playing out publishers would have learned their lesson, yet they keep swinging for the fences.
Anyway, I still like the look of this game. Reminds me of the subdued metal drab of great mediocre games from the PS2 age, like the Ghost in the Shell: SAC game. Had a lot of fun with those games.
I disagree. I am not a huge multiplayer fan but I think the mp in this game looks well done and it looks like its meant to be in there from a gameplay standpoint. I'm hoping this game attracts an international mp base like Lost Planet 2 did. Those players are a lot more fun to play with.
I think devs have no choice but to include MP in shooters.
Remember Vanquish one of the best single player shooters ever made? It was totally panned by gamers because it didnt have MP.
Gamers are a spoilt bunch and want MP in everything, even though theyll play it over a weekend and go back to COD leaving the servers empty. Such a shame
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I honestly can't wait for the game;
It'll be a nice warm-up for Mass Effect 3.
