We learned Fiddy doesn't need to move his mouth to swear in 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand

Watch the slow progression of our drunken stupidity as we continue to trudge through 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand. In this segment, I try to make my Bacardi and Vitamin Water cocktail less terrible with lime juice, sadly to no avail. Then Max and I poop a bunch of nonsense from our mouths, as usual.

A little while ago, Max and I decided that the best use of our time would be to get absolutely sh*thouse hammered drunk and play 50 Cent: Blood On The Sand on the Destructoid Twitch channel, and because we want to share this incredible experience with the world, we're uploading the whole shitshow onto YouTube for your viewing pleasure.

In this first installment, we get off to a rolling start, and Max has to take a phone call from his mother. So, here's Max talking to his mom on the phone. Yeah.

We're playing 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand live on Twitch!

Max Scoville and I thought it would be a good idea to get drunk and play 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, so we decided we will do exactly that, and stream it for you to watch live. We're stupidly drinking Bacardi and Vitamin Water in Fiddy's honor.  You can watch the stream here, or in the video player below.

Destructoid's Twitch channel is ready to come back and get the diamond skull

As some of you may recall, we took a break from streaming on Twitch.TV. There was a lot of reasons for the temporary halt in production, but we're ready to make a comeback.  We've had some time to mourn our trail-blazing...

Watch live video from Destructoid on Twitch

[Update: Shows over, but you can watch me play through again in the video above.]

Funny thing. I love racing videogames but I'm a terrible driver. In real life, too! Ask anyone that has ridden in my car. In fact, Hamza rode with me to lunch yesterday. I think I ran two lights, curbed, and cut people off in that short two-mile drive. Sorry, Hamza. You know better now.

I talk a lot of sh*t about others that play racers. And now, thanks to the magic of streaming, I'll have to eat some words. Whatever. Now they (and you) can see how bad of a driver I really am in my livestream of Driveclub, kicking off in about 30 minutes (3:00pm PST).

Sony is only letting me show a little bit ahead of the game's October launch on PS4, but it's still enough time to see me wreck. Watch me play through new challenges I've just unlocked in the game's single-player mode for the first time. See the shiny cars. Get a glimpse of where our upcoming review (October 7) is going.

Ask me questions during the chat and I'll do my best to answer them while driving 150MPH.

See you on the road!

Amazon's recent acquisition of Twitch.TV for more than $1 billion might come as a surprise to anyone that had been following various suitors' attempts to buy the streaming mogul. As of late, it had seemed as if Google was poi...

Amazon has acquired Twitch.TV photo

[Update: It's confirmed. Amazon has officially acquired streaming site Twitch.TV.

"Amazon will acquire all of the outstanding shares of Twitch for approximately $970 million in cash, as adjusted for the assumption of options and other items. Subject to customary closing conditions, the acquisition is expected to close in the second half of 2014."

Emmett Shear, CEO of Twitch, also released a statement on the acquisition.]

It was believed that Google was ready to acquire videogame streaming site Twitch for $1 billion but "those talks cooled in recent weeks," reports The Wall Street Journal. Now, it's Amazon who is reportedly stepping up to buy Twitch, according to the WSJ and The Information.

The deal isn't done until it's formally announced, as we saw with the earlier Google rumblings, but sources say an announcement could happen as soon as today.

There's been talk of which acquisition would be better for Twitch users. I'm still undecided.

Watching fish play Street Fighter II live is actually entertaining

First there was a fish playing Pokémon over a Twitch stream like it was a human or something, and now we've got two fish fighting each other in Super Street Fighter II Turbo. If you're new to this phenomenon, the tank...

The Halo Channel is a thing (Update)

[Update: Trailer now included.] At Microsoft's press conference, right after talking a bit about the upcoming Halo: The Master Chief Collection, 343 took the stage to reveal The Halo Channel. It's for watching "all things Halo," including shows, streams, and recorded play. It's like Mario Kart TV. Kind of. A partnership with Twitch for the channel was also announced.

Twitch viewers can screw with you in #killallzombies

Dumb name aside, I quite like the premise of #killallzombies. It's a top-down shooter for PlayStation 4 in which zombie survival has become a televised sport, and there will be real, human spectators watching you play (if yo...
