Take another look at trippy Vita rhythm game IA/VT Colorful

Music-making game Cosmic DJ has a corgi in it!
by Dale North

This past weekend, I found myself running through the crowds of the PAX East show floor, pushing people out of the way to get to the Indie Megabooth, where Cosmic DJ was waiting for me. As a musician and a fan of music games I would have sought it out anyway. But I found out via Twitter that the game features a corgi, so I took off running.

PS Vita rhythm game IA/VT Colorful sure looks like an acid trip

Hatsune Miku may be the queen of digital songstresses, but she's by no means the only act in town. Many are looking to join the party, like IA/VT Colorful, a rhythm game starring vocaloid idol IA. The musical title features 60 different tracks to get players bumping and grinding when the game arrives in Japan on July 31. Marvelous AQL has yet to announce a western release.

Have you played Rhythm Doctor?

How have I missed Rhythm Doctor? We gave it a brief mention last year, but I guess I missed that. The first I heard of it was last week at GDC. Walking past the IGF booth, I saw a guy with headphones on, bobbing his head while mashing a huge button. Curious, I walked over. I saw an on-screen cardiograph and a little samurai bobbing its little head. I was hooked from there.

Making multiplayer music in Fantasia: Music Evolved

Harmonix revealed a multiplayer mode for Fantasia: Music Evolved at GDC last week alongside some new songs and levels. I jumped in front of a Kinect sensor to try out the new mode, and it wasn't long before I was flapping my arms to the beat.

Can't you hear that boom, badoom, boom, boom, badoom, boom, bass?
