This week on Steam, you can check out the superb Pac-Man Championship Edition DX+ for free as Namco plays the part of a "friendly" drug dealer. The promotion lasts until Monday at 10:00am Pacific and in that time the game and its DLC are 66 percent off.
Building up a huge chain of ghosts -- a ghost train, if you will -- and then eating them all in the span of a couple seconds is so damn satisfying. See that image up there? Uh huh.
Just play this already. Cancel plans. Shun responsibilities. There is only time for Pac-Man, now.
Weekends sure are good at going by too quickly. It's only Monday morning and I'm already wishing it were the end of the week. Sony isn't helping, either -- its unlocking online multiplayer for PlayStation 4 owners who aren't subscribed to PlayStation Plus this weekend.
Those users will gain access starting Friday, September 26 at 12:01am Pacific and it'll carry through Sunday, September 28 at 11:59pm Pacific. All you need to do to take part is log into your system during those times -- simple as that. What to play, though.
Now through September 30, Xbox Live Gold subscribers can downloadHalo: Reach for free through Microsoft's Games with Gold program. And those of you with an Xbox One still have the rest of the month to nab the excellent Super Time Force. Just putting that out there.
Reach has the distinction of being the last Halo game I was even moderately into, though my memory of it is mostly hazy. I do recall struggling quite a bit toward the end of the game. Funny how of all the things I could remember about my playthrough, it ends up being the painful part.
For a chance at the prize, just push the big blue button below and follow the instructions to earn entries. It's pretty simple! Of course, our Huge members don't need to do a thing; your membership already grants you automatic entry in full. (You can always enter manually to up your odds, though!) You have until October 12, 2014 to enter, and the contest is open to anyone in the world*. You can find the full contest rules here.
Wolfire Games' Receiveris a first-person shooter unlike any other I've played.
Instead of a quick button press to reload your gun, here, reloading is a much more realistic, multi-step process that requires effort on your part. As in, you'll need to actually practice. Also, levels are randomized and there are creepy drones out to get you. Good luck!
You can and should experience Receiver, if only for a few moments, especially now that it's free through the Humble Store. Offer's good for today only. Be sure to redeem your Steam key by September 29.
Now, when I say this is a decent month for Club Nintendo game offers, I'm asking you to focus on Kirby Super Star, Super Punch-Out!!, and Art Style: PiCTOBiTS. Two Super Nintendo classics and an awesome, underplayed puzzler. Go ahead and ignore the rest, if you would.
Gengar only became my favorite Pokémon in the last few years, but now that it's my bestie, I don't see that ever changing. (Sorry, Feraligatr.) Matter of fact, I'd even be willing to step foot in a GameStop for a distribution event related to the ghostly Pokémon -- true love.
There are two events planned for Pokémon X/Y in the United States this year and both require leaving the house. The first one is for a shiny Gengar with its Gengarite Mega Stone, obtainable via a "special code card" at GameStop from October 13 - October 26.
The next event is for Diance -- claim yours from October 27 - November 16 at the game retailer. The Diancite Mega Stone isn't included here; you'll need to earn it in either Pokémon Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire once those titles launch on November 21.
Xbox One-owning Xbox Live Gold members can play Forza Motorsport 5 for free this weekend, starting 12:01 a.m. Pacific time September 4, running through midnight on Sunday. The entire game is available for free play. It's a big ass download so you had better get started.
There's a special race event called Grand Tour of Prague running this weekend, letting you earn a new title and badge for your profile. You'll keep all of your data, so at the end of the weekend you can choose to buy the full title and continue on.
During this weekend event, Xbox Live users in USA can qualify for a chance to win a trip to the Forza Motorsport Grand Prix road Racing Class at Bondurant, located in Arizona. All expenses are paid for the three-day trip.
Mr Destructoid has gotten his greedy little hands on some codes for the Spacecom beta, and he's decided to hand them out to the Dtoid community! (This is actually quite generous of our robot overlord. He normally eats things like this.)
Spacecom is a strategic starfleet command game with a heavy focus on multiplayer, and you can enjoy the beta from today until September 11. To claim your code, just click here! (Huge members, click here for your reserved codes.) Then just login to Steam and redeem it there. Be sure and let us know your thoughts on the game in the comments below!
Weren't fast enough to claim a code? Think about becoming on of our Huge members! They get preferred access to beta codes such as these, automatic entry into contests, ad-free browsing, and more!
Next month's Games with Gold lineup is among the service's best yet.
Xbox 360 owners who are subscribed to Xbox Live Gold can nab Monaco: What's Yours is Mine for free from September 1 - 15, followed by Halo: Reach from September 16 - 30, while Xbox One owners will have all of September to download Super Time Force.
Shame about the Xbox 360 version of Super Time Force not being included here, but if you're thinking of playing it there I'd recommend going for the Ultra PC release instead.
Our friends at Groupees have given us 20 codes for their newest bundle, Be Mine 14! Included in the pack are codes for Meltdown, Little Big Adventure 2, Legacy!, The Racer - Passengers, Vanth - Future Overdrive, Eschalon: Book III, Arcade Block, BloodRayne2, Hydral Collection, Heileen 3: New Horizons, Betrayer, The Mysterious Cities of Gold, Whispering Willows, and Consortium. Holy smokes that's a lotta games!
There are two ways to win:
Leave a comment in the thread below! Limit one entry per person, and you have until this Sunday, August 31 at 11:59pm to enter.

We'll be handing out codes to random tweeters throughout the week. Good luck! And remember, our Huge members get automatic entry into all contests (as well as a bunch of other awesome perks). Try us out!
As part of my slowly-get-out-of-bed routine this morning, I glanced at my inbox and was delighted to see an email pop up on my phone about ChAIR. Could this be it? The announcement of another Shadow Complex? We've been waiting years for a follow-up!
Nah. It was just a press release for some more Infinity Blade stuff.
The studio is preparing its final update for Infinity Blade III, a free download dubbed Kingdom Come. It'll hit the App Store on September 4, 2014. There's going to be a new environment, more items and weapons, a dragon -- the usual. ChAIR has also put out a recap of the series, viewable above, with some of this new content featured here and there.
I liked the original Infinity Blade fine, but I'm eager to see this team move on to another project.
