This is Phil Fish explains the phenomenon of Phil Fish

I never got the hate for Phil Fish. Which is to say I understood it, but thought it was overblown and dumb. This video does a tidy job of explaining why. Basically, it's the internet's fault. And everyone that isn't Phil Fish. And Phil Fish. Just watch it.

Fez, success, and serving the project with Disasterpeace photo
Fez, success, and serving the project with Disasterpeace
by Jonathan Holmes

Last week on Sup Holmes (now on iTunes) we were treated to the company of Rich "Disasterpeace" Vreeland, most well know for his work on Fez, Krunch, Runner2, Bonk, and... yikes, so many other games. If I tried to list them all it would turn into such a huge blur of words that your eyes would probably get overwhelmed and fall out in protest, and that's not going to change any time soon. Rich is working on about 12 projects as we speak. That's bonkers. This guy is totally bonkers.

We talked about where the composer fits in the world of game design, his forays into solo development (like January), how he chooses projects and collaborators, touring with Akira Yamaoka, the definition of "Chip Tune," and a lot more.

Thanks again to Rich for appearing on the show, and tune in tomorrow when we welcome Holly Pickering (White Paper Games, formerly of Traveler's Tales) to the program. Her new upcoming game Ether One could be the next big thing. Come back and talk to her about it on Sunday 1pm PST/4pm EST.

Broken Age, Below, and more: The games of HORIZON

As previously discussed, Venus Patrol and MOCAtv's "alternative E3 event" HORIZON was pretty interesting both conceptually and in how it was executed. But what about the games?! That's why we're even here, right!? A few of the larger announcements to come out of the event have already been covered here at Dtoid, but what about those smaller, beautiful indie games HORIZON promised?
