I sure did kill a lot of giant bugs in the new Earth Defense Force on PS4

In the course of covering videogames, sometimes you go into an appointment knowing exactly what's going to happen. You know precisely how the game will play and what the demo will be like -- everything's just crystal clear. ...

Really, this is the only way you could ever play Onechanbara at TGS

If you want to play Onechanbara Z2: Chaos at TGS 2014, this is how you'll be playing it: looking into windows strategically placed over where nipples would be. Obviously. Were you expecting something else? It looks like an ex...

Here's your Onechanbara Z2: Chaos box art

Onechanbara Z2: Chaos' cover art has been revealed, and it's actually a lot less risqué than I thought it was going to be. I was hoping they'd just forgo clothes entirely -- you know, for sales. Just kidding. I actuall...

EDF x Onechanbara crossover is just the best

Never you mind that these outfits are Japanese retailer-specific pre-order bonuses. That's just stupid reality obscuring the fact there will be a Pale Wing costume in Onechanbara Z2: Chaos. Yes, folks will be able to kill zombies as the angel of death from Earth Defense Force. This is brilliant.  Onechanbara Z2: Chaos [Rakuten, Amazon Japan via 4Gamer]

[NSFW] Shake it, baby: New Onechanbara Z2: Chaos screens

Look, I'm not gonna mince words. The last Onechanbara title I played was absolutely horrible. For some reason I thought Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad for Xbox 360 was going to be this sexy amalgam of zombie-slaying goodne...

[NSFW] Onechanbara Z2: Chaos opener & alternate costumes

The problem with having a super "fan service" sort of game is that it can be hard to add more fan service. Like, there are plenty of upskirts in Onechanbara Z2: Chaos' opening cinematic, but when half of your characters are ...

Onechanbara Z2: Chaos trailer full of tits, upskirts, and murder

Holy crap, that song it goes into around the 45-second mark is so damn bad. Onechanbara Z2: Chaos is hitting PS4 in Japan this October, where it can hopefully help shift some units, as the PS4 library isn't tickling the country's collective fancy. Looks I lot better than the Onechanbara I played on Wii.

Panties, bras, and firearms abound in Bullet Girls

In D3 Publisher and Shade's upcoming action shooting game Bullet Girls, you'll play as the girls of the Ranger Corps, training to become frontline soldiers for the military. Some of the training is a bit unorthodox, with a go...

Onechanbara Z2: Chaos announced for PlayStation 4

Sony's PlayStation 4 isn't setting Japan ablaze just yet, like it is in much of the world. Part of that has to do with the dearth of software specifically targeted toward Japanese audiences. Enter Onechanbara Z2: Chaos, ...

D3 Publisher has announced the launch date for Earth Defense Force 2025 in the US. You'll be able to blast those bugs on February 18 when the game releases for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

That's not all that is releasing, however. The first downloadable expansion for EDF 2025, "Special Ops," will also arrive on launch day, offering five additional missions for $2.99. Two more mission packs, "Mutant Rampage" and "Beyond Despair," release on February 25 and March 11, respectively, each containing 20 more missions a piece, priced at $8.99. D3 Publisher has additionally stated that these packs will be made available in a bundle at an unspecified date.

Review: Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon (3DS) photo
Review: Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon (3DS)
by Chris Carter

I remember my first episode of Adventure Time. It randomly came on the TV one day and I had no idea what it was -- but I couldn't stop watching. There was something about the show that kept my eyes glued to the screen, watching best pals Finn and Jake battle the "evil" Ice King to save princesses from all across the Land of Ooo.

Years later and I've seen every episode of the show, and I still can't predict what will happen on any given week, or what new endearing character I might meet. To me, that's the mark of something special.

Sadly, the new Adventure Time 3DS game is the opposite of everything the show stands for.

Review: Regular Show: Mordecai and Rigby in 8-Bit Land photo
Review: Regular Show: Mordecai and Rigby in 8-Bit Land
by Chris Carter

Regular Show is one of my favorite programs on TV right now. It took the simple Beavis and Butthead setup of two slackers getting through their day-to-day routine, and added a bit of '80s and retro sheen to it, alongside a cast of likeable characters.

Imagine my excitement when I found out that WayForward would be handling an old-school 3DS platformer called 8-Bit Land with the Regular Show IP, which is pretty much a perfect fit. After playing it however my excitement has been tempered considerably, but it still has a few tricks up its sleeve to offer the most hardcore of retro fans a good time.
