In today's edition of Wake Up!, Jordan demonstrates how one kills fishy bipeds in the Lovecraftian horror title Eldritch, currently on Steam Greenlight. Meanwhile, I complain about how many games cherry-pick the cool monsters from the Cthulhu Mythos while leaving out the all of the not-fun powerlessness and insanity. It's a rollicking good time for all!
When last we left off in Volgarr the Viking, I had successfully navigated my way through to the game's first checkpoint. That may not sound like much of a feat, but it certainly made me feel like a mighty warrior with the gods on his side. Watch today's installment to find out if I retain their favor.
You'll get a kick out of this. Adult Swim Games' most recent release, Volgarr the Viking bears no small resemblance to the incredibly awesome Rastan arcade game Taito made in the 80's (and none at all to the horrible Rastan: Saga II made for home consoles; my inner child is still bitter about it). But I spend the bulk of this episode of Wake Up! referring to it as Rygar because I guess that's the kind of thing which can happen when you're thinking "Rastan" but playing Volgarr.
Did you know that Jordan is a sorcerer? Were you aware that he is well versed in the dark arts? It's true. Nobody sacrifices a goat with such precision and grace (so to speak) as he does, but you wouldn't know it by the performance of mystical prowess on display in today's installment of Wake Up! as we continue to plumb the more surface-level depths of The Legend of Dungeon.
