Your Wii is sad and lonely, says Nielsen

Nielsen's State of the Video Gamer study somehow measures a percentage of the total time a console could be used. I don't know how the hell they do that, but their figures show that the Wii has the lowest user activity. Compa...

SingStar PS3 $10 at Best Buy. Worth it? Umm...

Deep in the same Best Buy store reduction bin alongside spray-on screen cleaner, old RAM, and countless copies of Every Extend Extra was SingStar PS3. A possible cheap gem in a pile of trash? The sales guy tells me that they'...

Edge's Let's Tap review: A disservice to gamers photo
Edge's Let's Tap review: A disservice to gamers
by Jim Sterling

Look, we're not here to say which reviews are right or wrong, and we're not saying that opinions aren't important, but Edge's review of Let's Tap is wrong and the opinions are completely unimportant. With this in mind, we definitely recommend that you ignore the desperate-for-attention, we're-going-to-prove-our-elite-status so-called "review" from Edge that has the entire Internet talking.

I'm not linking to it because it doesn't deserve to be linked to. Let's just say that Let's Tap got an 8. Like I said, we're not going to question Edge's opinions, as questionable as they are. By giving Let's Tap an 8, Edge basically said "this is not the greatest videogame ever made and we don't want to suck its golden, console-exclusive cock." That is a lie. That ... is ... a ... lie.

The Let's Tap review is unprofessional and controversy for controversy's sake. We ALL know that Let's Tap is the greatest game about tapping on cardboard boxes ever made, and for Edge to not reflect that by giving it an 8 instead of a 15 is, quite frankly, emotionally devastating. As hardcore gaming journalists, we believe in toeing the industry line and giving a game the same score that everybody else gave it so there's a nice little column of the same number on Metacritic. If you DARE post a different number, you are unprofessional and should, to be perfectly honest, die

Your job is to make the reader feel safe and secure about his financial and emotional investment, and Edge failed each and every one of its readers with this horrible review. How are videogame journalists going to get the respect they deserve if they don't give perfect scores to important console exclusives? All you do is come across as a stuck-up little kid who is trying to prove how clever he is at the expense of the consumer.

For your sake, please please PLEASE ignore the Edge review. Those lying c*nts.

Organized Pussy League (aka moral watchdog) hates LEGO Batman

The Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood likes to run its mouth off about various evil things that go on in the world, although it hasn't really targeted videogames since 2007 when it joined the Manhunt 2 witch hunt. That...

Braben rides the Wahmbulence again: Claims game stores 'defraud' the industry

Regular Destructoid fans will know that I have reported several times on the words of David Braben, Frontier founder and hater of used games. Once again, the Lost Winds creator is going all emo about one of the oldest traditi...

More bitching about pre-owned games from David Braben

Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to re-introduce you to David Braben. The Frontier Developments boss has already slammed pre-owned games in the past, falsely claiming that other industries don't tolerate the practice and asking...

Game Debate to the Death!
Hardest game you've ever played?

In the last debate, we discussed which Pokémon species and game was our favorite. With hundreds of critters and a dozen different games to choose from, it was probably the most varied range of votes I've ever seen in a...

Satan's Sudoku: Another mainstream journalist reveals their ignorance

You'd think that in the wake of Kevin McCullough's tyrannical screed the mainstream media would've laid off the game chatter, leaving those of us actually tasked with covering the industry to do our jobs while the fervor died...

Jeff Minter is a whiny emo: Complains about Frogger outselling Space Giraffe

This is hilarious. Jeff Minter, old school cult developer who recently released the trippy, arty and not-very-good Space Giraffe for Xbox Live Arcade has thrown a bitchfit over the aforementioned game's lacklustre sales. Beca...
