Meet the StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm sound team
by Jayson Napolitano

Maybe you played StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm. Maybe you enjoyed the soundtrack disc that came packed in with the collector's edition, or perhaps you simply enjoyed it in-game. With this expansion focusing on the Zerg, I was most looking forward to this installment in terms of its music, and it didn't disappoint as you can read in our soundtrack review.

We've had the opportunity to pull together the key players on the StarCraft II audio team, including six composers and the lead sound designer. They've all provided exclusive audio samples that you can hear below via our SoundCloud, explaining what you're hearing while giving us insight into the behind-the-scenes work and thought processes that went into the game's impressive soundscape.

Check it out below and let us know what you think of StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm's music!

StarCraft II Kerrigan cosplay is out of this world

Pro cosplayer Tasha is at it again with another mind-blowing cosplay depicting the Queen of Blades from StarCraft II. I can't imagine how much work it took to make the whole costume, let alone the process even involved in trying to put it on. Tasha has a few more pictures of the outfit over on her Facebook. Check out our cosplay page for more amazing cosplay photos.

Review: StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm photo
Review: StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm
by Jonathan Ross

It appears Blizzard's learned quite a bit from Diablo III's launch, as Heart of the Swarm was instantly playable on release with virtually no server problems -- a bit of a rarity, it seems, with recent PC releases.

It's a good thing, too, since as soon as I logged in at midnight, I got hooked on StarCraft again. Heart of the Swarm brings engaging RTS gameplay, sets up a story I found to be more interesting than what was presented in Wings of Liberty, and serves as an excellent middle entry in the StarCraft II trilogy.

New releases: God of War: Ascension keeps the faith photo
New releases: God of War: Ascension keeps the faith
by Fraser Brown

Another Monday rolls up, acting like it's the boss of the week, so that can only mean one thing: a week of new releases. I'll be saving my cash this week, not really seeing anything to interest me, but I may grab God of War: Ascension somewhere down the line, if I ever pick up the third one. It is meant to be rather nifty.

As well as Kratos's return, there's a bunch of other stuff dropping over the next seven days. The second Starcraft II instalment, Heart of the Swarm, launches; brightly colored demonic scrapping returns in Darkstalkers: Resurrection; Dead Space 3 gets some super-early DLCand another one of those shooting people from very far away games show up.

Anything tickling your fancy this week?
