["K and Rabbit Zero" by Fuju] [Update: Seriously guys? Complaining that news of the hero from the first game returning for the third game is a spoiler? I don't think you know what a spoiler is.] If you've played through Zero ...

Aksys selling VLR watches for Hurricane Sandy relief

Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward is great. The sweet pre-order watch modeled after the in-game bracelet is also pretty great. If you missed the chance to score the watch for free, you now have the option to buy it directly f...

Review: Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward photo
Review: Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward
by Tony Ponce

I cannot express enough how much I love 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors. A cross between escape-the-room puzzler and visual novel, it sits as a shining example of how powerful and engaging videogame narratives can be. Not only is 999 my favorite game of 2010, it's also one of my favorite games ever. Period.

According to 999 director / writer Kotaro Uchikoshi, the title's positive reception in the West was what kick-started development of a sequel. When I heard this news, I was filled with a mix of elation and apprehension. I couldn't wait to dive into the next chapter of the Zero Escape saga, but I was worried that it would fall into the trap of trying so desperately to surpass its predecessor that it loses the essence of what made the original fresh and exciting.

In most respects, Virtue's Last Reward is a far superior game. And while it doesn't quite exceed 999's overall quality, it comes very, very, very, very, very damn close.

ALERT: Save-corrupting bug in Virtue's Last Reward on 3DS

I've got good news and bad news. The good news is that, after more than 30 hours of play time, I've finally finished Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward. Expect the review later in the week. The bad news is that there is a game...

From a bag of Doritos to a bag of dirty laundry photo
From a bag of Doritos to a bag of dirty laundry
by Jim Sterling

Who knew that a picture of a man sat next to a bag of Doritos could snowball into anger, humiliation, and intrigue? The most startling thing about this industry is that the biggest of avalanches can erupt from the humblest of places, and so it is that an image of Geoff Keighley sparked a massive controversy.

After viewing the above image, which was earning many laughs as it spread across the usual social networking sites, British writer and comedian Robert Florence penned a piece for Eurogamer, using it as the launch pad for an earnest critique of the videogame press. He particularly assaulted the Game Media Awards, a PR-sponsored event that praised and rewarded the sponsor's favorite videogame "journalists."

In particular, he mentioned Lauren Wainwright, a writer for MCV and a Destructoid graduate.

Surprise! The Virtue's Last Reward OVA is in English

Can anybody tell how excited I am about this game? Is it that obvious? Aksys has dubbed the 13-minute Virtue's Last Reward OVA that originally came out last year. Unlike the game which uses polygon models, this mini movie fe...

Virtue's Last Reward has me caught up in the game

No, I am not LeVar Burton, but I've been told by several people (read: no one) that I greatly resemble him. This is your notice that Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward is available right now on 3DS and PS Vita. I'm plugging my way through right now and can't think about much else. I've got Bracelet Points and sh*t on the brain.

Review: Dragon Ball Z for Kinect photo
Review: Dragon Ball Z for Kinect
by Ian Bonds

It seemed like a good idea at the time: Take the popular Dragon Ball Z fighting games and put them in first person perspective with Kinect controls, allowing players to punch, kick, and Kamehameha their way through the series' popular battles, allowing players to be immersed in the Dragon Ball world like never before.

Wait... Kinect? No, I was wrong. That doesn't seem like a good idea at all.

Everything you need to know about the 2011 Spike VGAs
by Conrad Zimmerman

Tonight, the Spike Video Game Awards ceremony was broadcast live, packed full of new trailers, game announcements and wretched, pandering humor. We caught the intriguing trailer for The Last of Us. We watched Miyamoto smile as The Legend of Zelda was inducted into the Video Game Hall of Fame. And we cried a little bit every time Felicia Day or Zachary Levi had to perform some humiliating monkey dance, clearly demonstrating how much class we're expected to have as gamers.

So much happened tonight, here's a rundown of everything we witnessed:

Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD takes from first two games
The Last of Us, Sony and Naughty Dog's survival horror
BioWare's new game is Command & Conquer Generals 2
New Mass Effect 3 trailer has worms
Miyamoto accepts Hall of Fame award for Legend of Zelda
Get ready for Alan Wake's American Nightmare
The Amazing Spider-Man's VGA trailer
Rainbow Six trailer hits pretty close to home
Wow: Transformers: Fall of Cybertron trailer
Fortnite, Epic Games' cute zombie game
New BioShock Infinite trailer is moving
Kojima debuts Metal Gear Rising trailer at Spike VGAs
Diablo III intro cinematic is dramatic as hell
Spike VGA game of the year: Skyrim
This Hitman: Absolution trailer is coming for you
Tekken tags up a Tournament 2 teaser trailer
