Sony: The Last Guardian is not cancelled photo
Sony: The Last Guardian is not cancelled
by Kyle MacGregor

[Update: IGN has issued a retraction and apology.]

Sony once again is fending off rumors regarding the status of The Last Guardian. Yesterday evening, IGN reported the long-awaited project from Team Ico had been cancelled, citing an unnamed internal source.

Well, that just isn't true, according to PlayStation's Scott Rohde, software product development head at Sony Worldwide Studios America.

Rohde responded to the gossip over Twitter, saying "[Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida] and I laughed at this rumor over dinner. The Last Guardian has NOT been cancelled."

Back in March, Rohde assured us the title was still in development, but wouldn't say "what platform it's coming on, who's working on it, [or] who's involved." Perhaps we'll finally find out some of that information this week at E3.

Details leaked for reported fourth and final Arkham game, Batman: Arkham Knight
by Chris Carter

[Update #2: GameSpot has Batman: Arkham Knight coming out on October 14, 2014.]

[Update: Game Informer's new cover story has confirmed the existence of the game, as well as the platforms. Cool!]

Before you freak out -- the series is apparently back in the hands of Rocksteady. Phew. WB was all set to announce the next Batman game soon, but a GAME UK retail leak has possibly spoiled the surprise. The game is being called "Batman: Arkham Knight," and will supposedly be released on the PC, Xbox One, and PS4 this year as the "explosive finale" of the franchise.

Gameplay details are sparse, but it looks like you might get to drive the Batmobile, you might be able to play as Harley Quinn in some Challenge Maps, and Scarecrow might be the main villain. Really, I'm just glad Rocksteady is back after the monumental mess WB Montreal caused with Origins

by Max Scoville

Welp, here's your exciting video game news! Lots and lots of fun things, like Nintendo's financial problems, [obvious] lack of plans to move into mobile games, a single Super Smash Bros. screen, and the rumored new console,"Fusion." Microsoft, meanwhile, is in hot water over secretly paying Machinima partners to say nice things about the Xbox One. Alienware's Steam Machines will be un-upgradeable AND annualized, oh boy! Resident Evil 4 is coming out for PC in HD, Sony's got some great Playstation Plus deals, the Candy Crush Saga guys have copyrighted the word "Candy," Disney has abandoned copyrights for Star Wars 1313, and there's a sexy new Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes action figure.
