Hardline 28: Resident Evil remastered, Assassin's Creed penguins, and gamescom teasers
by Jordan Devore

Capcom is bringing a remaster of the Resident Evil remake for GameCube to current systems and that's good news for folks like me, Brett, and Bill who missed out on it. But all of these re-releases of games that came out within the last couple years? We're not so sure.

For this week's episode of Hardline, we also talked about the differences between Assassin's Creed Rogue and Unity -- one has penguins, the other doesn't -- and what lies ahead at gamescom next week in Cologne, Germany. That blasted Steven was a no-show.

Hardline 27: EA Access, Deep Silver's smooth moves, and decapitations
by Jordan Devore

For this week's episode of Hardline, the major topic of discussion was Electronic Arts' new subscription service for Xbox One that offers full access to select games and discounts on digital DLC and full-game purchases for $4.99 per month, or $29.99 annually. Is it a good value, and if so, for who? Was Sony right to turn down the program?

Steven, Brett, and Bill also chatted with me about Deep Silver picking up Homefront from Crytek and why the lack of period-appropriate decapitations in Assassin's Creed Unity is a bit silly.

We had a technical mishap mid-recording that threw off our audio-video synch, so no video episode this week. Sorry! Just imagine Steven looking stoned and everything will be okay.

Hardline 26: Do we even want another Last of Us? photo
Hardline 26: Do we even want another Last of Us?
by Jordan Devore

Electronic Arts has delayed not one but two of its major games originally planned for October 2014 -- Dragon Age: Inquisition is being held back until November, while Battlefield Hardline is now set for early 2015. In this week's episode of Hardline, Steven, Brett, and Bill joined me to discuss that decision, the Destiny beta, and Naughty Dog's comments about how not considering a sequel to The Last of Us "would be a disservice [to the studio and its fans]."

We purposefully went for a shorter run time this week in the hopes that the show would be more easily digestible for those of you watching on YouTube (as opposed to just listening). Actually, we tried to do that last episode too, but it ended up being well over 30 minutes anyway. Whoops.

We did it this time, though. Hope you enjoy!

Hardline 25: EVO highlights, Tekken 7 is real, and oh so much Fire Emblem in Smash photo
Hardline 25: EVO highlights, Tekken 7 is real, and oh so much Fire Emblem in Smash
by Jordan Devore

EVO happened over the weekend and holy hell, that BlazBlue grand final was something special (watch it here). The year's big fighting game tournament was home to spectacular comebacks and we even got some announcements like Tekken 7 and Raiden in Mortal Kombat X.

But it was Smash Bros. that got me, Hamza, Steven, and Brett the most fired up this week as Lucina, Robin, and Captain Falcon were revealed. We also talked about two upcoming not-MOBAs, Battleborn and Gigantic. Find out which is a "yay" and which is a "nay."

Probably for the best that we took a break between episode 24 and this week's recording. Some decent game discussion took place and I don't think a single fetish was brought up.

Hardline 24: Mirror's Edge 2's combat, supporting Bad Company, and Sonic fandom photo
Hardline 24: Mirror's Edge 2's combat, supporting Bad Company, and Sonic fandom
by Jordan Devore

This is what happens when there isn't much news to dig into in the weeks following E3.

I tried to talk with Steven, Brett, and Hamza about a few of the silly EA stories that made the rounds earlier this week -- Mirror's Edge 2 focusing on refining first-person combat, DICE not entirely knowing what made Battlefield: Bad Company 2 special -- but we had vorarephilia on our minds.

If you don't know what that is, as I didn't prior to a couple days ago, that's probably for the best.
