Hardline 013: Amazon Fire TV, heists coming to GTA, and too much PAX?
by Jordan Devore

Did I end the last episode of Hardline by saying we'd be back a week later if we weren't murdered and left in a ditch somewhere? And then we went two weeks without a follow-up?

Well, we aren't all dead -- just on the inside -- but we did bring on Destructoid contributor Brett Makedonski and Hardline producer Bill Zoeker to fill in for this recording.

Topics this week include April Fools' Day bringing out creativity for 24 hours, the Amazon Fire TV, Uncharted writer Amy Hennig joining Dead Space maker Visceral as creative director on an untitled Star Wars game, Square rethinking its JRPGs, Phil Spencer becoming head of Xbox, GTA Online adding heists, game jams gone wrong, and whether or not a fourth PAX is worthwhile.

Unfortunately, we've had some temporary technical issues getting this week's episode on YouTube, but we didn't want to make you guys wait for the podcast version. For the audio-only episode, you can subscribe on iTunes and RSS, or download directly here.

Here we are again, my darlings. This week, Max Scoville, Jonathan Holmes, and Conrad Zimmerman discuss getting old, The Offspring, the collapse of society in the coming decades, and the fact that Spider-Man was touched as a child by a man named Skip. No, for real. Also, video games are mentioned briefly.

Here's your direct download link, and here's the ol' iTunes link.

Hardline 012: Sony's virtual reality and big game delays photo
Hardline 012: Sony's virtual reality and big game delays
by Jordan Devore

On this episode of Hardline, I was reunited with my good friends Steven Hansen and Hamza Aziz for a lengthy chat about Sony entering the virtual-reality headset market ahead of rumors that an announcement will happen next week at GDC. Is this destined to be another peripheral the company eventually abandons? We're worried that might be the case.

Other points of discussion include the Witcher 3 delay, DriveClub being a not-great racing game and going "back to the drawing board," Xbox Live's Games with Gold possibly improving down the road, the return of Flappy Bird, and the arrival of the illusive Frog Fractions 2.

Finally, the three of us recapped a few of the big reviews of the past week: Dark Souls II, Titanfall, and Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster. Steven said things about the Final Fantasy series which may or may not make you want to form an angry mob.

Podtoid 283: Maxine Legroom & 'A.F.' Massages

After a longer-than-normal hiatus, the gang is back together this week to discuss Max's trip to Japan, Jonathan's old dirty magazines, Caitlin's casting choices for The Last of Us movie, and Conrad's beard compatibility. Get your direct download here, and as always, you can find us on iTunes.

Hardline 011: The crying symbol of Europe photo
Hardline 011: The crying symbol of Europe
by Jordan Devore

What a news week! On this episode of Hardline, Hamza Aziz and Steven Hansen joined me in getting all excited for Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham Knight, wondering what caused Uncharted creative director and writer Amy Hennig to leave Naughty Dog, and recapping Konami's recent press showing of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. There are no boxes!

We also flew through a bunch of smaller topics, including PS4 sales, Duke Nukem, and why we don't like attending review events (for reviews, anyway).

Hardline 010: Haters gonna hate
by Jordan Devore

On this week's Hardline, I strapped in with Hamza Aziz and Steven "Hatesen" Hansen for a candid discussion about the challenges of writing effective game previews and why these articles aren't always as in-depth as everyone would like them to be.

We were also treated to a surprise visit from Dale North, who was thought to be too sick to appear on the podcast but hopped on anyway out of nowhere. Love you!

From there, the conversation turned to all of the Persona franchise release announcements, composing game music, whether Naughty Dog should do a Last of Us sequel or a new IP, the PS4's Japanese launch, and the only debate worth having: Aladdin SNES vs. Genesis.

Hardline 009: The end of Irrational, Twitch Plays Pokemon photo
Hardline 009: The end of Irrational, Twitch Plays Pokemon
by Jordan Devore

Technical issues be damned! Hardline is back and this week I spoke with Hamza Aziz, Steven Hansen, and Dale North about the closure of Irrational Games and forming of co-founder Ken Levine's new, significantly smaller studio; the Doom beta; Harmonix's musical first-person shooter Chroma; the Twitch Plays Pokémon phenomenon; and The Order: 1886.

And then we started pitching game ideas to one another, including a Metroidvania bowling game and a stealth dancing title. It got real stupid, real fast.

Podtoid 282: Don't do your parents' drugs

This week on Podtoid, Max Scoville, Conrad Zimmerman, and Andy Dixon warn about the dangers of consuming prescription drugs intended for your parents. Plus, talk about the reaction to King's unsavory trademark actions, Double Fine's Amnesia Fortnight jam, and Jazzpunk. Put it in your earholes via direct download or subscribe on iTunes.

This week on Podtoid, Jonathan Holmes, Conrad Zimmerman, Andy Dixon, and Caitlin Cooke discuss their latest gaming experiences, including Conrad playing Awesomenauts, Caitlin's obsession with The Price Is Right, Andy Dixon's daughter's shocking rudeness, and Jonathan Holmes' landlord's dying cat, and of course, dog maulings. Unfortunately, Max Scoville is MIA after heading south of the border to flee overdue child support payments.

Hardline 008: Please understand photo
Hardline 008: Please understand
by Jordan Devore

On this week's Hardline, Steven and Conrad joined me for what turned out to be a lengthy discussion about the future of Nintendo. It's been suggested that the company make games for mobile, but is that really such a good idea? And is there any salvaging the Wii U?

We covered those questions and more, as well as Conception II, Microsoft buying Gears of War, and we kept talking about Grand Theft Auto for reasons I can no longer remember.

This week on Podtoid, Jonathan Holmes is once again dead in a chemical fire, so it's just Conrad Zimmerman, Andy Dixon, and Max Scoville. The gang discusses forklift missions, sex, babies, Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends, and The Fugees' breakthrough 1996 hip-hop album "The Score."

Hardline 007: The case of the missing Game Boy Micro photo
Hardline 007: The case of the missing Game Boy Micro
by Jordan Devore

Max Scoville and Conrad Zimmerman appeared on this week's Hardline to share their thoughts about the controversy surrounding Microsoft's media buy in which Machinima partners were paid to make videos promoting the Xbox One without disclosing the partnership, and the trademarking of the word "Candy" by Candy Crush Saga maker King.

Then there was the whole "Nintendo has to rethink its business structure" thing after the company substantially lowered its sales forecast for the Wii U this year. Not a very uplifting week in game news, all things considered. On a brighter note, there was a fair amount of chatter about Max hiding a Game Boy Micro in his body (use your imagination) and we came up with a borderline believable scenario explaining why he'd need to do that.

For the audio-only episode, you can subscribe on iTunes and RSS, or download directly. (Also, episode 006 is now up on iTunes. Sorry for the lateness!)
