Take a peek at Persona 4 Arena: Official Design Works

I bought a coffee table earlier this year. I big, shiny, attractive one. Never had one before, but I knew I needed one for all of these beautiful videogame art books I've been collecting. I've got lots of Japanese imports, a ...

In defense of boobies photo
In defense of boobies
by Vito Gesualdi

Let me preface this article by stating a few simple facts. I am a young, white, American male who consumes vast amounts of pornography. As such, I am occasionally drawn to depictions of the female form which are perhaps outside the realm of realism, with silicone implants and soft lighting helping to emphasize certain erotic areas.

Am I ashamed of my interest in these depictions? About as ashamed as anyone might be when discussing their sexual interests. However, I am also a logically thinking adult who understands that real women don’t look anything like the bizarre sexual fantasies on my computer monitor, nor would I want them to.

Embracing failure: We're all losers and that's OK photo
Embracing failure: We're all losers and that's OK
by Steven Hansen

As I was knee deep in the glorious Persona 4: Golden, something curious happened. A heavy 50 hours into the game after something resembling a climax, the game ended. It was an ending that felt hollow, strangely devoid of resolution. Something was off. After being treated to a bleak cutscene, everything was over, with little fanfare. It didn't seem right and so I took to the internet to find I had received a bad ending. One of them. Nowhere near the worst one -- I didn't mess up that badly -- but a wholly unsatisfactory one. I reloaded my save, corrected my slight error, and, as it turns out, there were another 30 hours of gameplay waiting for me. That's a lot.

I couldn't help but wonder how many people might have gotten to one of the early alternate endings and thought that was that. Surely everyone would have that drive to figure out what was really going down with so many plot threads left limp, right? That moment was a little sobering. The game was putting the impetus on me. I had to be paying attention. Close attention, it turns out, because there were a few more unwanted endings I could wind up going down if I didn't do some careful detective work.

Failure is fantastic.

Persona 4 Chie Satonaka figure is just gorgeous

Of all colorful characters in Persona 4, Chie Satonaka is easily my favorite. She is just the best, so there. If you agree, (Why wouldn't you?) it might please you to hear that the carnivore who's discarded her womanhood is s...

New releases: Start xenomorph hunting in Aliens photo
New releases: Start xenomorph hunting in Aliens
by Fraser Brown

It looks like it's going to be a slightly quiet week for new releases, with only two titles really on my radar. Personally, I'm a bit relieved, as I have a ton of catching up to do.

First up, we've long Aliens: Colonial Marines bursting out of chests and onto hard drives everywhere. We've not had a decent Alien game in a while other than the superb Aliens: Infestation for the DS, but I'm not really sure that Colonial Marines is going to change that. Still, I'm always happy to slaughter xenomorphs, and hopefully it will be even more fun with a pal.

Other than that, we've got Cyanide Studio's Impire, which, from what I've played of it, is a rather wonderful strategy title in the vein of Dungeon Keeper; Brain Age game drops on the 3DS, testing the mental abilities of the gullible; Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken comes to the Vita; The Plan hits Mac and PC; and a bunch of games spread to new platforms like very welcome viruses.

Anything tempting you this week?

The winner of our Persona 4 Golden Premium dance contest photo
The winner of our Persona 4 Golden Premium dance contest
by Dale North

First off, you all made my week. I loved ALL of the entries for our Persona 4 Golden Premium Edition dance contest. So many great videos! I wish we had more than one prize to give. Thanks so much to all that entered!

But, as we said earlier, there were only 10,000 of these Premium Editions made, which means they're already pretty hard to come by.

Our winner was absolutely shameless in his dancing. He doesn't necessarily have 'moves,' but somehow he still nailed many of the orignal opening's dances. Levito, you are a superstar, and our winner. I hope the whole world sees your video. The Kanji section kills me every time.

Ah, but so many of these were so great. Sooooo great.

Shadowfox, you really can move! Atashi, so cute!!! SiriusK, thanks for busting out of club to make your vid. Crystalking18, I laughed really hard. SillyReaper, fantastic effort -- it was like a music video! TheBigSpoon: you are amazing. WKG, you say you can't dance, but you had those moves down. Dels Catt, the multi-can scene had me.

And Josh Paige, you know my weakness. Those spins made me squeal out loud!

Hit the jump to watch more of our entries.

Last day to enter our Persona 4 Golden dance off contest photo
Last day to enter our Persona 4 Golden dance off contest
by Dale North

[Update: Contest closed! Winner announced here.]

Today is the last day to shake your ass in front of a webcam to win a copy of the Persona 4 Golden Premium Edition for PS Vita. Inspired by the fantastic opening intro song for P4G, our contest has the best dancer nabbing this rare (only 10,000 made) copy. Tomorrow we'll judge all of this week's entries and choose, so if you haven't, enter now.

Even if you don't feel like dancing, you should at least check out the amazing entries in the comments section. SO GOOD. You'll see some good attempts at mimicking the dances from the game's intro movie, complete with trashcan action. Look out for a full Teddie costume, too.  There's even a shameless corgi dancing entry! The corgi spins are so elegant!
