Rumor: Doc Ock and Frank West are Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 DLC

This rumor comes to us via our own Snaileb. It looks like some intrepid hacker has taken a look into the code of Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, and found the names of both Frank West and Doc Ock in the there. Some are taking this to me...

Details on DSiWare game Legend of Exidia arrive via ESRB

It's no big secret that some of us around here think that DSiWare is a big pile of poop. As someone who watches the weekly download releases of Nintendo pretty closely I can tell you that the service has had many, many lacklu...

N-Gage is officially dead, no one attends funeral

Do you remember the first time you heard about the N-Gage? I do. It was an advertisement in EGM and it had a kid on a skateboard playing the game while jumping at the camera or something. It was horrendous. I'm not sure who t...

Want to play Resident Evil Degeneration? You can ... on the N- Gage!

Wait ... isn't Resident Evil Degeneration a movie? Well, yes, but you can't blame a company for making a tie-in. Capcom has announced that a game based on the CG film will be coming, which you may have been interested in play...

Contest update: Congratulations to N-48, you've won the N-81!
by Niero Gonzalez

Yesterday Destructoid's panel intern LostCrichton appointed comment #48 on this thread as the winner.  You'd think that determining the winner would be black and white, but nothing is easy on Destructoid.  As some of you know we have a beloved glitch in Lackner's Elephant which makes "first post" actually comment zero. So do you count 0 then 48 (so the winner is #49) or do you subtract one to account for zero (which makes it #47)?  The plot thickens further: As it turns out the comment zero bug was patched on the front page months ago but only still remains on the c-blogs. Jeez!

Anyway, to make a long story short we've decided to scrap all methods above and just use the MySQL database entry ID as the determining one as there are no visible numbers on editorial comments anyway.  That said ... Congratulations BahamutZero! As soon as hurricanes are done ravaging the South and we can get home we'll get your prize in the mail. For those of you in the South and East Coast, we wish you the best of luck and are reminding you now -- start charging your gameboys and PSPs.

So what's next? I'm also pleased to announce that a new contest is coming up next month for a coveted set of sweet drums soon to be released for a certain music game. Keep an eye out for it.  The theme of the contest will be "That was then, this is now". Call your mothers!

Contest: Win some loser's Nokia N-81 Multimedia gaming phone contraption photo
Contest: Win some loser's Nokia N-81 Multimedia gaming phone contraption
by Niero Gonzalez

Some weeks ago I had the distinct pleasure of having my ass handed to me in a Reset Generation journo tournament hosted by the Themis Group and, as promised, I shall pass the spoils onto a chosen one from the Dtoid Army this Saturday. The prize is a slick Nokia N-81 Multimedia phone ($350ish) that has more applications than your lame ex-girlfriend's Facebook profile, including a 2MP camera, Gmail, MP3s, Internet tubes, proper WiFi, N-Gage multiplayer games, and the most ghetto-blasting speakers I've ever seen grafted on a cellphone. This thing is frickin' LOUD.

We're also throwing in some wireless bluetooth headphones and the ungodly amount of cables and international adapter things this comes with. Yes, yes, my European Dtoiders, you too can soon have my cooties. On a related note, did you know that fish you've gone to parties with can have their tongues replaced by an isopod? Watch who you kiss, kids!

BREAKING: There's a good game on the N-Gage! Hands-on with Reset Generation

At the risk of dividing by zero, I must admit that Reset Generation: For the Love of Gaming is ... a great pick-up-and-play N-Gage game. Before you conclude that my career in games writing is done, h...

The N-Gage Lives: Konami adding games to the service

I never really anticipated ever writing the name "N-Gage" again, but that's how unpredictable life is. Nokia's much maligned mobile gaming brand is still lurching forward in a sick parody of life, as the company has...

Capcom releasing games for N-Gage platform in 2008, hula hoops next big fad

As a result of a videogame retail job I once had, I somehow ended up with four or five N-Gage units, in addition to a number of memorable titles, like Ashen and The Sims: Bustin' Out. And it wasn't too long ago that had a con...

GDC 2007: Nokia ditches N-Gage 2 to create N-Gage Live

In a move that could only be considered incredibly good common sense; Nokia has decided to cancel all plans for the release of the N-Gage 2; not surprising, when you consider how disastrous the original N-Gage was (remember...
