Former Final Fantasy devs team with European studio on JRPG Zodiac by Steven Hansen
French developer Kobojo has announced a new game, Zodiac, made in collaboration with frequent Final Fantasy composer Hitoshi Sakimoto (Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy XII), series scenario writer Kazushige Nojima (Final Fantasy VII) and sound designer Masaaki Kaneko.
The team describes the completely hand drawn turn-based RPG as, "Final Fantasy meets Valkyrie Profile and Dragon's Crown in a new online multiplayer experience."
Kobojo, which has Paris and Scotland-based studios, started as a social game developer, but has since shifted focus to developing high quality role-playing games for mobile devices. It is showing Zodiac at TGS on iOS and PlayStation Vita, but there is no lead platform for the loose 2015 release date.
CEO Mario Rizzo explained that things like platform and price model will need to be worked out on the business side. "It could be Xbox," he said, and noted that it is a Unity game so PC and console versions are all viable (it was being demoed with a controller). Cross platform compatibility, too, will be completely dependent on platform holders, as there are "no technical restrictions" on being able to play the game on your phone, then pick up the same character on your Vita or elsewhere. "Only business restrictions," Rizzo said.

Adventure Time Game Wizard's biggest strength is in its content creator. Using the iPad camera, you can scan in any level you've drawn out on a piece of graph paper, or you can draw directly in-game. From there, you can choose a themed backdrop based on the show including the Snow Kingdom, Candy Kingdom, and others.
There's a set of simple shapes and outlines you can draw, each corresponding to a type of platform. Want a lava pit? Just make two vertical shafts with zig zags in between. Need a moving platform? Just sketch out a striped rectangle.
There are a good number of platform types you can draw and combine to create your own levels, and Game Wizard offers an intuitive guide for all the shapes you can use. They never get more complicated than what you can trace on graph paper, and even when I didn't draw perfect lines, the scanner was always capable of translating past those errors.
