Imabikisou now joins Lair as a PS3 "remote play" title

For some reason I love playing selections from my favorite games of all time on handhelds. There's something about the charm of having PSP games, a full SNES library and a copy of Chrono Trigger in my handheld that makes Cole...

Gallery for posterity: The complete Lair Reviewer's Guide. [Update: Contest!]
by Niero Gonzalez

[CONTEST Update: Want this booklet for your very own swag collection?  Take a page from the booklet and PhotoShop (or MSPaint) something hilarious and we'll pick our favorite entry next Friday. We'll also send you a random shirt from our local thrift shop, so get P'chopping!]

You've read the crap Lair reviews. You've rubbernecked through the peculiar string of fatal car crashes that resembles the Factor 5's feedback about those dirty little playtime diaries. You're probably as curious as we were when we heard about the 21-page "reviewer's guide" that popped up today, so we've put the whiskey down for a second and scanned the entire volume for your clicking enjoyment.

All jokes aside, the guide isn't chock-full of marketing-speak on why the game is revolutionary and more awesome than your God.  It's surprisingly devoid of lame attempts to sway a reviewer from saying anything unfair or negative about the game.  The only thing we can fairly pick on is the president's introductory plea on page 1 to give the game (and his horrible decision to force Sixaxis controls down your throat) a chance.  Instead of a review guide, this may as well have been more accurately labeled as the biggest instruction manual ever produced. Has anyone contacted the Guiness Book people yet?

While this slickness of this volume is appreciated, it's a fact of life that gamers (especially editors) are too busy/excited/intoxicated to READ THE F@#$%KING MANUAL so to send us a giant one seems, well, more likely to soak in more grease from last night's chinese food than the other things left abandoned on the coffee table.

Sony tells reviewers HOW to review Lair ... this just gets better

Okay, I'm sorry, I know I keep picking on Julian Eggebrecht and Factor 5, but they are truly, truly asking for it. Not content to let this rest and intent on reminding us that Lair got some bad reviews, Sony has now sent out ...

Factor 5 is now blaming ghosts. The Lair absolution gets ridiculous

Factor 5 absolves itself over Lair being a big pile of wank

To say that Lair has not received the warmest of welcomes by reviewers is to perhaps put things a tad mildly. A long time in development and the usual make-or-break hype has not done enough to stop people panning Factor 5's b...

Sony at this year's Lollapalooza ... what, is this 1993?

Give your Talladega Nights disc a rest: Lair ships to NA retail on August 14
by Nick Chester

PlayStation 3 owners, the time to remove Talladega Nights from your console is fast approaching. Ryan Hamlyn, associate producer for the upcoming Rogue Squadron-with -dragons PS3 title, Lair, has announced that the North American version of the game has completed development. The title is on schedule to hit stores on August 14, which m means you should be able to buy it just about everywhere on the 15.

Gamers in other regions (Europe, Japan, Korea, etc.) are going to have to wait a bit longer for the team to complete localization, however. At that point, the in-game leaderboards will go global, and we can truly see who the best dragon rider ... guy ... woman ... thing ... is. Yeah.

I really hope Trogdor is an unlockable character in this game.

[Thanks, Summizle!]
