Diablo III's Ultimate Evil Edition makes the core game a must-play for console owners

Diablo III has had a tumultuous history to say the least. Always-online DRM, the Real-Money Auction House, and loot problems plagued the original release -- all issues that took months to address. It's a hot-button issue even...

Crawl is back with a new release date and an 'IRS MAN' monster

I absolutely loved the way Powerhoof handled its delay of Crawl due to some untimely tax issues that needed to be resolved before the game was released. The studio wasn't sure how long it would take to get back on track, but...

Now this is how you delay a game

We only just got word that Crawl would arrive on Steam Early Access on July 17, but that's no longer the case. The four-person dungeon crawler is going to be late -- "it could be a couple days, it could be a couple weeks," re...

Kill your friends with ghost traps: Crawl coming to Early Access photo
Kill your friends with ghost traps: Crawl coming to Early Access
by Steven Hansen

Also, the Coven is going to turn you into a toad.

I have been super excited for Crawl since last year. It's a four player dungeon crawler. The twist in Crawl is that your friends play as the assorted monsters and traps in the game, and killing the hero lets you take their place.

I'm pretty good about avoiding Early Access games until their final release, but I may end up testing Crawl out on July 17.

Guild of Dungeoneering takes us back to pen and paper days

Guild of Dungeoneering might as well be a board game. It has the look of a hastily doodled tabletop role-playing game, and it features tile-laying and hand management mechanics. Each turn, the player draws up to five cards, ...

The Hero Trap lets you play as a berserk luchador bear

"Lightning fast dungeon crawler" may seem like an oxymoron, but the trailer above for The Hero Trap shows what it means by that: frenetic action gameplay within an ever-changing combination of dungeon arenas. To be honest, I...
