This weekend on Steam, both Saints Row IV and Company of Heroes 2 will be playable for free. If you like what you find and want to continue after 1:00pm Pacific on Sunday, which is when this promo ends, the titles are on sale to own for $19.99 and $13.59, respectively.

You surely don't need me to tell you these titles are worth the time it takes to download them, so I'll just say in the case of Company of Heroes 2 that all of the game's paid multiplayer commanders are also going to be unlocked during this free weekend.

Review: Company of Heroes 2: Victory at Stalingrad DLC photo
Review: Company of Heroes 2: Victory at Stalingrad DLC
by Joshua Derocher

Victory at Stalingrad is paid DLC that's a part of the larger Turning Point update, which also includes new free multiplayer maps, the World Builder tools, four free commanders, and four premium commanders. The free stuff is great, so even if you don't want to buy more DLC for Company of Heroes 2, you will still find something new if you jump back into the game.

I really enjoyed the base game quite a bit, and it has added a lot of content since its release. It's also been patched up, balanced, and polished even further. Finally, the new content is here, and I can't wait to fail miserably at all of it.

Review: Company of Heroes 2

Company of Heroes 2 comes off strong with its new campaign, and it packs an impressive amount of extra features. Standing on its own, it is an impressive real-time strategy game, but there are people who want to know what makes this better than the beloved original Company of Heroes. The simple answer to that question is that it's more of what they love.

The sequel brings a new campaign, new multiplayer maps and units, new co-op modes, more explosions, more units on the field, and deathly winter combat, all presented with the gameplay that made the first such a hit. It stays true to its roots while bringing in enough new, compelling content to make it worthwhile.

New releases: Fight in the snow in Company of Heroes 2 photo
New releases: Fight in the snow in Company of Heroes 2
by Fraser Brown

This week sees the return of Relic's superb World War 2 strategy series, Company of Heroes, with the bloody conflict in the Eastern Front being presented in a brand new engine. Though it adds little more than extreme weather and a new, explosive campaign to the tried and tested formula, it's really rather splendid.

On top of this, the Biker action game, Ride to Hell: Retribution finally drops, after a bit of a delay; the merc with the mouth, Deadpool, gets his very own game; Dark leaps out of the shadows with a smattering of stealth and vampire action; and that really rather awful looking Spartacus Legends game is a thing.

Anything tempting you this week?

Things go boom in the latest Company of Heroes 2 trailer

The latest look at Company of Heroes 2 shows off just how action packed this real time strategy game is. There's action, explosions, and death all around you in the battlefield. There's so much action here that the trailer even says you should check this one out before you play "the next big FPS." Oh, snap! Company of Heroes 2 will be out on June 25 for the PC.

Here's your Company of Heroes 2 campaign trailer
