Platinum Games producer JP Kellams recently spoke at UCF’s Center for Emerging Media, and reminded fans yet again that if it wasn't for Nintendo, Bayonetta 2 would not have existed. Kellams outright states, "...

Bayonetta 2 gets a new trailer with new characters

Sadly, nothing really substantial was discussed about Bayonetta 2 at today's Nintendo Direct (not even a release window other than "later this year"), but a new trailer was dropped that helps us get a better look at the game. All of the standard Bayonetta staples are here, including big boss battles, Witch Time dodging, and of course -- more surfing.

Should Bayonetta 2 have competitive or co-op multiplayer? photo
Should Bayonetta 2 have competitive or co-op multiplayer?
by Chris Carter

Bayonetta is one of my favorite action games of all time. Not only is it legitimately challenging even on hard mode (who would have thought), but it offers up that frame-perfect technical action you'd expect from a studio like Platinum Games, with a ton of weapon variety to boot.

Although we don't know much about Bayonetta 2, I'm still pretty excited given the team's pedigree, and the multiplayer mode has me intrigued. Going into 2014 and the inevitable release of more information on the sequel, I'm starting to wonder what Bayonetta would be like with another person.

Bayonetta: Bloody Fate anime coming soon from Gonzo

[Warning: Trailer NSFW secondary to butt.] Bayonetta is quite the divisive character, embraced and/or loathed by feminists, sex perverts and feminist sex perverts alike. While her first game didn't do huge numbers, she'...

You can't talk about Bayonetta 2 without mentioning hair photo
You can't talk about Bayonetta 2 without mentioning hair
by Jordan Devore

The sheer spectacle of Bayonetta 2 has me on board for this Wii U exclusive, and that's to say nothing of the hair. Oh, that magnificent hair. It's everywhere!

It was getting late in our PAX Prime 2013 journey when Hamza and Jim recorded their thoughts on the new Platinum Games title, as you can probably tell, which is why their attempts to talk about the game resulted in strange words being uttered. The subject matter of Bayonetta 2 certainly wasn't making their job any easier.

I survived Bayonetta 2's touch screen controls

Bayonetta 2 has the potential to do what most sequels set out to do -- meet the approval of existing fans while being appreciated by a new audience. It feels more confident in it's own inherently brazen nature, and less inter...

New releases: Skulls of the Shogun will slay you photo
New releases: Skulls of the Shogun will slay you
by Fraser Brown

Monday has once again arrived, so you know the drill: it's another week of new releases. We're leaving January behind in a somewhat subdued fashion, but there's certain to be something that will catch your eye.

Skulls of the Shogun has caught my eye this week, though lamentably it's only dropping on platforms I have no access to. Maybe it's time for me to upgrade to Windows 8? Nah, probably not. Regardless, it looks like a fun strategy romp for those who like to chuckle while commanding undead minions.

Other than that, there's co-op shenanigans in the form of the medieval theme park scrapfest, Dungeonland; the IGE award-winning Antichamber drops on PC; Omerta: City of Gangsters opens its doors to prospective mobsters; you can shoot people in the face and make things go "boom!" in Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear; the 3DS gets some love thanks to Bloody Vampire and Witch's Cat; play the most hardcore sport of them all in Let's Fish! Hooked On; and more platforms get Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed and Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault. This and a whole lot more magically appears this week.

Anything floating your boat?
