Two weeks ago, PlayStation announced that moving forward, all PS4s would come bundled with a copy of The Last of Us: Remastered. Amazon's taking that one step further and packing in yet another game at half price. Right now, ...

A really cheap bundle of Assassin's Creed games highlights some decent Amazon deals

Amazon must've had a bunch of download cards left over following Microsoft's holiday promotion featuring a reduced Xbox One bundle. Apart from several unsold Assassin's Creed packaged consoles, how else could you ex...

Amazon's gift to you is free (good) Android titles and (more) cheap videogame downloads photo
Amazon's gift to you is free (good) Android titles and (more) cheap videogame downloads
by Brett Makedonski

[Update: There are a handful of new deals on videogame downloads, as well as some decent savings on other stuff -- including some portable hard drives that make great external storage for gaming consoles. All updated discounts are toward the top of the list; everything from yesterday's post is underneath it. As is customary, updated Amazon posts get bonus Grohl. #BonusGrohl]

Well, it's tough to argue with this -- free Android games on Amazon, several of which are quality titles. Five Nights at Freddy's? Sure, I'll try it out. Terraria? I'll give it a shot. Tetris? Never heard of it, but maybe it's okay.

When reached for comment, Dave Grohl said that he approved of free mobile games, but he couldn't fully endorse the deals on PC titles. "Even though I'm the sexiest of international rock stars, I'm still wary of paying for videogames," Grohl commented. "Yes, I have more money than I know what to do with, but everyone's trying to sell me computer games. Steam, Amazon, everyone. It's tiring." Grohl concluded by yelling "THE BEST, THE BEST, THE BEST, THE BEST, THE BEST..." until Destructoid was irked enough to hang up the phone.

Amazon's trying to steal Steam's thunder with a bunch of PC download sales

Tread lightly, Amazon. You're setting up shop in a part of town that's run by Sticky Fingers Newell and his crew. That's not just bad for business; that's bad for your kneecaps. But, here are all your wares anyway -- PC downl...

Amazon doesn't take the weekend off because videogame deals don't stop

[Update: Amazon's discounted Assassin's Creed Unity down to $29.99 for Monday only. That's half off a game that's days more than a month old. Calls for a quick bump, in my opinion. All these other videogame deals from th...

I don't know what 'Green Monday' is, but Amazon has videogame deals for it

I'm not sure why we need to keep designating official titles for different days to spur consumerism around the holidays. I mean, people need (and want) to buy stuff; they'll spend money regardless. Black Friday's fine. It's b...

Amazon's Cyber Monday is a second chance at cheap videogames

Cyber Monday's upon us -- a second opportunity for those that were too lazy (or wise) to venture out among the Black Friday masses to secure things we don't need for cheap. This is just a couple days later, and all you need t...

Merry Thanksgiving, everyone! (And by "everyone," I mean those in the US; happy Thursday to everyone else.) It's on this, the holiest of days, that we remember the Pilgrims that selflessly died so that we may pursue our god-given right to frenzied capitalism and cheap electronics (sort of).

We've posted a lot of Black Friday deals over the past few weeks, and it's tough to remember what each one entailed. Why don't we go ahead and recap with the highlights of each ad from the major retailers? If nothing else, it'll get you a few minutes away from your great-aunt Sally and that awful conversation about sweaters or whatever it is she's droning on about.

Here are most of Amazon's Black Friday videogame deals, all in one place

Why are we excited about these New 3DS packaging shots?

An informal poll of the Destructoid staff reveals that we're all senselessly excited for this New 3DS. It doesn't make sense. None of us need one. We should be mad at Nintendo for having us wanting another iteration. But we'r...

Google supposedly bailed on Twitch deal because of antitrust issues

Amazon's recent acquisition of Twitch.TV for more than $1 billion might come as a surprise to anyone that had been following various suitors' attempts to buy the streaming mogul. As of late, it had seemed as if Google was poi...

Amazon has acquired Twitch.TV photo
Amazon has acquired Twitch.TV
by Jordan Devore

[Update: It's confirmed. Amazon has officially acquired streaming site Twitch.TV.

"Amazon will acquire all of the outstanding shares of Twitch for approximately $970 million in cash, as adjusted for the assumption of options and other items. Subject to customary closing conditions, the acquisition is expected to close in the second half of 2014."

Emmett Shear, CEO of Twitch, also released a statement on the acquisition.]

It was believed that Google was ready to acquire videogame streaming site Twitch for $1 billion but "those talks cooled in recent weeks," reports The Wall Street Journal. Now, it's Amazon who is reportedly stepping up to buy Twitch, according to the WSJ and The Information.

The deal isn't done until it's formally announced, as we saw with the earlier Google rumblings, but sources say an announcement could happen as soon as today.

There's been talk of which acquisition would be better for Twitch users. I'm still undecided.
