Nobody could ever claimPAYDAY: The Heist wasn't a good idea. Tapping into every human's secret desire to be part of a beautifully orchestrated, flamboyantly daring theft of grand proportions was a masterstroke, and while the execution was spotty, the overall result was a ton of fun.
Overkill is having a second crack of the whip with PAYDAY 2, clutching its clever idea jealously while surrounding it with much more content. A deeper leveling system, greater customization options, and a ton of new heists are all on offer.

Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons is an anomaly when it comes to Achievements. Not a single one will be unlocked through normal gameplay. However, every last one takes only seconds to get and isn't dependent on anything other than traveling a bit off the beaten path.
No, there's nothing strenuous about this list, but most of the Achievements are pretty cryptic in their description. If you're stuck on some or simply want to take all of the mystery out of it, I've put together a guide to unlocking all of them in the order that they appear. I've tried to keep it as spoiler-free as possible, but you probably shouldn't check it out if you want the purest experience possible.

It all starts innocently enough with a pair of brothers making their way through town. Sure, there's a task at hand, but urgency isn't an issue. It should be, but it isn't. Soaking in the warm glow of the sun and playing with some bunnies feel like more pertinent matters.
Before long, it's not apparent where the siblings are, but it's obvious that they took an unexpected turn toward Crazyville. Thinking back to just a few hours prior, it's remarkable that this is even the same adventure -- how far things have come.

In EKO Studios' How to Survive, you'll travel from island to island, monitoring hunger and sleep meters, crafting items from junk you find lying around and, oh yeah, taking down zombies with a bow or machete. The whole undead survival thing is over and done with for a lot of you, and I'm not far behind myself, but this was a lovely surprise for me at E3.
What sold me on the premise more than anything, I think, was that the zombies didn't merely exist to be killed -- to make you feel like a badass. While a well-placed shot will still do the trick, a swarm could come out of nowhere, and they were serious trouble if they got anywhere near your face. Good luck shaking even a couple of zombies off once they're within range.
The other standout feature for me was that the extensive crafting system allows you to uncombine items at any point free of penalty. That kind of freedom is always appreciated, especially as someone who would never experiment with weapons otherwise. As familiar as How to Survive initially looks, in practice, there's nothing quite like it. Perhaps it's the pacing. Do keep an eye on this PC, Xbox Live Arcade, and PlayStation Network release.
Payday 2 feels like one of the most ambitious sequels in recent memory. I was a fan of Payday: The Heist, which in and of itself is high praise. Normally I can't be bothered to play online multiplayer and I've had first-person shooter fatigue for years, but Payday clicked with me. The focus on carefully orchestrated cooperation combined with the game's sometimes vicious level of challenge against near overwhelming odds is exhilarating.
We knew Payday 2 was going to be much improved, given that it's receiving a retail release in addition to digital, and we knew that new elements were going to be added, like stealth possibilities. Still, I wasn't prepared for how much has improved. Talking to director David Goldfarb and then playing for myself left me pleasantly surprised and wanting to play more.
Indie, exploration-based Terraria has developed quite a following since its release and now it's making its way to iOS courtesy of 505 games, which handled its recent console release. Ideally, 505 would have liked all three (PSN, XBLA, iOS) to have released simultaneously, but it turned out they would need more time to make sure to get it right; or, "to make sure it doesn't suck."
Taking a game designed with keyboard (and controller) in mind and making the iOS jump isn't the easiest of things. In fact, developments are still changing on a weekly basis. When I asked when the release date was, I was answered with a swift "when it's ready," which is a good answer to have (and to get). Still, what I played handled pretty well, and I particularly enjoyed that the time to do things like mine or chop down trees has been reduced.
