Tactics Ogre PSP dated in Japan for November 11 photo

Square Enix just dropped a release date for the PSP port of the fantastic strategy RPG Tactics Ogre to the Japanese games press. This remake of the 1995 classic, now called Tactics Ogre: Wheel of Fortune, will come out on November 11th there, with the UMD version priced at 5,980 yen and the download about $10 cheaper. For us? Still no idea, but we know it's coming to us from the official announcement last month.

Here's the thing: the translation is done. They just need to drop it in and send it over! Do they want me to do it? I will! It'll take like...five minutes. Easy.

ITMedia says that the Japanese release will got a pre-order bonus gift: 22 tarot cards with hot game art.

unfortunately for us I doubt that the PSN version will be any cheaper than the UMD version :(

Oh God Yes. It's been so long since I've played a Tactics Ogre (Knight of Lotus on GBA was the last one I've played), and I love it so much. I must has.

I really want a new Ogre Battle game, not that I have anything against Tactics Ogre, but I really want a new experience (or even just another chapter in the saga) that plays like Ogre Battle 64.

I think I hear that N64 cartridge calling me again.

While I'd like a new game, I will be picking this up.

FUCK YES! War of the Lions was great! I've wanted to play an Tactics Ogre game for awhile (isn't there one for the N64 on the Virtual Console?) and this looks awesome. I hope a NTSC version is released, but I suppose I could always 'import' it.

I would fly there myself to be able to get my hands on the game that was the predecessor of FF:Tactics.

Wow. I knew Final Fantasy Tactics was similar to Tactics Ogre because of they had a lot of the same development talent, but I swear I've seen that map in the original FF Tactics, just without snow.

Hopefully since this a remake instead of upgraded port, we don't have those absurd slowdown issues...

Also tarrot card preorder bonus is awesome.

And do you remember a bunch of chocobos, of all colors, and more specifically - getting your motherfucking face Choco Meteor'd in? Because I certainly do.

YES! Pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaase make a stateside port. I always wanted to play Tactics Ogre, but I sure as hell am not gonna pay over $100 like it goes for on ebay.

@MuddBstrd

That's because they're both developed by members of Quest, and FFT basically ended up being Tactics Ogre 2

Why not DS please, or possibly VC or WiiWare? It has been on the Wii in japan since Feb '09. You guys still owe us Nintendo fanboys for never localizing it for the SNES. I love both the original Ogre Battle and the one for 64 and I want to play tactics but I don't want to get a PSP to play it and I don't want to learn japanies so that I can play the SNES ROM I found (and yeah I know it was out for PS, but I heard it was a really bad port).

@Vanilla: YES! THAT SO HAPPENED ON THAT FREAKING MAP!

@Shoop: Yup, I knew that, as I alluded to in my original comment. I'm just surprised by the degree of map recycling. :D

The more SRPGs on PSP, the more I play it. Which means it's going to get worn out between this and Valkyria Chronicles.
