Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

Tabbed browsing is great -- every browser should have it. Even the newest version of Internet Explorer has jumped on the tab train. The Wii version of Opera? Not so much. Enter Wiiminder.

The curiously named tool is essentially a page that's a browser within the Wii browser. I took it for a test run and it does pretty much exactly what it advertised. The site has a bevy of bookmarks already set to go, so you can get to tabbing as soon as you load it up. I'll forgive them for Destructoid not being one of them, although one certain clown shoe wearing Web site is among the list. Surely an oversight.

This is a neat idea for Wii users who feel they need a more functional browsing experience on their television. But even with tabbed browsing, I think I'm still missing the point of wanting to browse the web on a Wii.

What's that? I can play Flash games in the browser? Oh, there's a novel idea -- having games to play on the Wii.

[Editor's note: I love the Wii.]

Thats cool but I still think its retarded to browse the web on a console. Better the wii then the ps3 though.

This is actually pretty cool. But then, I might be the only person in the universe who sometimes browses the web from my Wii (when I'm too lazy to go in the other room and turn my laptop on).

Rob: Wait, we care about Flash video that much now?

Dale: Because it was an oversight -- clearly.

I was using this yesterday and it shit out on me and went to the main opera page.

Remember brutal, the opera browser is a demo. The full version may have tabs.

Maybe if you don't want to buy a computer you could pay the monthly fee to use the Internet just for the Wii browser. That is my best guess.

I found it convenient when someone else was using the computer and I wanted to look up where the second warp was in SMB as I played it on the VC.

Although browsing the web on the Wii isn't ideal, I tend to use it every once in a while. It is nice to not have to get off the couch to surf the net or I'll use it when my wife is hogging the computer.

You sure they actually had them in stock? A lot of stores put out empty boxes just so people will ask.
