System specs for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat are here photo

Besides divulging the PC requirements for the third stand-alone S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game, Call of Pripyat, developer GSC Game World also launched the official site for the first-person shooter complete with a selection of new in-game images and some character bios.

Minimum System Requirements

  • Intel Pentium 4 2.0 Ghz / AMD XP 2200+
  • 512 MB RAM
  • 128 MB DirectX® 8.0 compatible card / nVIDIA® GeForce™ 5700 / ATI Radeon® 9600

Recommended System Requirements

  • Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 / AMD 64 X2 5600+
  • 2 GB RAM
  • 512 MB DirectX® 9.0c compatible card / nVIDIA® GeForce™ 9800 GTX / ATI Radeon® HD 4850
Are they doable? Definitely. I'm no expert PC builder, but I'd be willing to bet you could very easily meet the recommended requirements for under $600 if you assembled the rig yourself. It's not until you bring visual-enhancing mods into the equation (assuming there will be some) when things start to get kind of expensive.

Wow, those are so low...It's been a long time since I'd be able to run a new game on my computer with minimal trouble. I've never played these games, but I might just pick this up for the sheer fact I can run it.

Easy to run, but I still need to finish Clear Sky before considering buying this.

Aww, there goes my PC's status. My 9800 GTX is officially dated. -sadface-

The Stalker engine is pretty scalable, but it does look quite like crap on the low end (loses most of the awesome realtime lighting). I wonder if this will finally be the time they don't release a buggy broken mess of a game as well?

My 9800 GX2 should do the trick. Although with the Cry Engine 3 coming out soon, I may have to upgrade in a year or less.

Aww, my 9800 is gettinga bit long in the tooth. I just upgraded to a 4850 but it hasn't been running very well due to some shitty remp management (and it seems to be struggling with dual 1080p monitors).

requirements are nice. also many of the STALKER mods improved performance, although by this point i think the team has realised it would be better to make those improvements themselves rather than wait for the community to fix their game.
