A new trailer for Syndicate went up today, detailing the "DART 6" abilities that players will have at their disposal. The video details a lot of the stuff that yesterday's demo simply didn't have, making me feel much more confident in the game again.
With DART 6, players can ruin enemy guns, turn them suicidal, or even convince them that their allies are the enemy. It's all about screwing with their heads, which sounds like a bloody good laugh.
I'm still really hopeful that this turns out well.

Meet the rest of the team
I'm definitely on board for this. Played the demo multiple times, checking out all the different ways stuff could be done and poured over vids last night/today. I refused to believe Starbreeze would release a crappy game and I feel I was right and they won't. They've been working on this a long time and once you dig deeper and set aside nostalgia for the originals, I feel that the love and care shows. To be fair I could be totally wrong and its just a bag of soggy hobo dicks that kind of looks like a puppy from a distance. We'll all find out soon enough.
How is it a flip-flop, exactly, to say that the Syndicate's demo sucked and I hoped for more, then be relatively pleased after seeing the more that I asked for?
Fucking Internet people and their all-or-nothing mentality.
I'm curious to know how much time you spent on the demo, Jim. I finally understood the basics after a minimum of 3 playthroughs. It's much more complex than I'd anticipated it being. I wouldn't have compared it to Bodycount on a public website at which I work, however, where potentially thousands of trusting readers will take the advice that the game's a crusty cunt bubble on a dead clown's snizz. I watched the video where Max Scoville and Anthony Carboni were talking about the other 2 co-op missions and they looked freaking SWEET! I'd have thought you'd be all over this game like George Michael on public restroom penis, what, with your praises for Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
Just took my preorder off of Ninja Gaiden 3 and put it on this game. Watched a long preview of NG and that game is not looking so good. And after playing the Syndicate demo I can't f*cking wait for the full game. Experience and weapon blueprints won't carry over from the demo will they??
@deathmetalpizza do you and Konnery play on 360?
I wasn't trying to prod...exactly; it was just more of an observation. I realize it's probably just you being vocal (journalism and all that) about initial impressions, to an extent it seems like you can change an opinion with the blowing of the wind.
Like taking a figurative dump on the co-op demo, which consists of very little of the end product...even if you throw on a "I hope it's better than this". That just seems like collateral protection for future circumstances should the game be good and you previously said it was a pile of shit. Basically how politicians like to do things.
He's a game reviewer by profession, you'd think he'd be accustomed to giving games leeway until the actual game is out. Changing an opinion is one thing, but like, literally, the NEXT day he completely changes his tune after some pictures and a video? Yeahhh
Not stupid at all; it's closer to being realistic actually, but maybe I'm just more level-headed than most.
@fetusmilk
It's going to have online co-op missions and a completely stand alone single-player campaign, which I'm really looking forward to. I can't remember where I saw it, but there's a quick clip where you, the player, shank a dude in the eyeball to extract a brain chip. *wipes drool away from face*
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Better.
Faster.
Stronger.
I get that you are a knee-jerk nuclear reactor. Play a game/demo see one thing you don't like and let it sour the whole entire experience.
But come on now Jim, be a man and take a stand. Fuck all things EA!

You betcha. My GT is Garracuda.

But not me...
so he's not supposed to change his opinion ever?

Watch out, Konnery. Fat kids have a tendancy to go for the strangle.
