Symphony of the Night composer tapped for Skullgirls

1:40 PM on 04.21.2011

Michiru Yamane is a musical badass. Her track record is almost untouchable. She's best known for her work on many of Konami's best franchises. The scores for Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Suikoden III and IV, Pro Evolution Soccer and more are on her resume. Now she adds upcoming Xbox 360 and PS3 fighter Skullgirls to it.

"When I first heard about this project I was very excited, since this is my first time working with an American developer," said composer Michiru Yamane. "One of the requests Reverge had was for tracks with a jazzy feel to them. I love Jazz and have been wanting to create some of my own, so I played a bit with the rhythm and different sounds to try and heighten the impact and almost primal nature of the unique graphics."

Reverge Labs said that her mixture of gothic themes, jazz and rock would lend itself perfectly to Skulls' style. I think they're right. We should expect greatness.

Tekken 7 extended trailer is twice as overdramatic

I can't believe Liam Neeson has already made seven of these. There was a trailer for this recently, but this Comic-Con trailer is twice and long, therefore twice as good. You can say, "It's not about the length of the trailer, it's how you use it" all you like, but it's a half truth.  Also, please never say Heihachi again.more

Marie's persona in Persona 4 Ultimax is so pretty

Beating on people with your handbag is less cool than beating on people with a folding chair, but it's still pretty cool. Also, throwing presents at them. Very sweet. Marie will be paid DLC for Persona 4 Ultimax. And can we talk about that music? So fun. more
