My game is waiting for me in my mailbox so I will keep these tips in mind when I boot up tonight.
Thats odd. Being overleveled seems like the natural state of BL2
Pretty sure I'll be cake-walking my way through this game, exploding heads as I go along.
I'll be having the time of my life, is what I'm saying.
I was going to come and say similar.. After seeing Kotaku's article that tells you *in the title, in the most obnoxious way possible* that their guide will have you playing the game "the best way" I have to call massive BS on guides like this.
Its nice to have tips, specially for tricky boss fights or whatever, but don't play it off as if this stuff is either not easy to figure out, or that without this help no one would survive the game -a game thats mostly about how YOU choose to play it.
The funny thing is that we're so quick to point out how stupid gamers can be, or how they just "don't get it", but we obviously can't just let them learn for themselves and evolve a little.
Pick up guns, shoot guns, try not to die, profit (literally). Thats how you play borderlands 1, I don't see it changing THAT much for 2.

Thats funny, because that's why I was able to play BL1 completely solo, aside from a few achievements that I couldn't possible do alone because they REQUIRED another body (not even another player, just another character logged in).
Interesting to hear that hasn't changed much, because that's one of the things that lead me to be so bored with the first game. If it wasn't for wanting to 100% the achievements (thanks again Andy) I would have put the game down A LONG time before I finished it (Having this trouble with Skyrim right now, too. I can 100% it, and I'm almost there.. But I'm struggling to keep interest)
Also protip: don't be afraid to use your class's special ability. I can't tell you how many times I was in a tight spot, only to activate my Gunzerker ability to dual wield my exploding shotgun and fire inducing rifle. So helpful.

Uh, we reviewed this yesterday, dude.
@BoomingEchoes
No prob. Easiest achievement I've ever helped someone get :)
Game is fun so far though!
I have another tip: try those guns. Try 'em all! Some might seems really shitty until you unload it into a horde of enemies. I found a low level acid spewing shotgun which didn't look all that fancy but I was wrong. So wrong in fact that I used it from level 34 all the way to the end as well as my second playthrough and all the DLC. What a beast! Some guns had really crazy effects too which you couldn't tell unless you used it.
So at least fire it a few times before you sell it.
fine game.
