Sure, why not: Boulder Dash making an XBLA appearance photo

Let's cut right to the chase: Boulder Dash is getting yet another revival. Xbox LIVE Arcade is the place, Q3 of this year is the time, and Catnip Games is the handler of development duties.

No screenshots were given out, but we did get a nice piece of Rockford art. On the off chance that the people who are making this game read this and are open to advice: guys, please don't go overboard with the art style. Less is more for these newly-updated old-school games, trust me.

Usually, I'm all about bringing enthusiasm to the table -- not this time, sadly. Boulder Dash is one of those games I don't have any fond memories of from my childhood. It was before my time, honest! So really, the most excitement I can muster up is "okay, sure."

High Strangeness lets you shift between 8-bit and 16-bit

Longtime Destructoid community member AgentMOO's High Strangeness was back at PAX this year with a nearly done build. With the help of indie publisher Midnight City, High Strangeness is coming out late this year on PC and consoles. Holmes and Ben "AgentMOO" Shostak talked about the "12- bit" adventure and enemies that get more nefarious and capable as you do when you switch to the 16-bit world.more

Interstellar Selfie Station is what happens when you keep the best part of a scrapped project

Christine Love (Analogue: A Hate Story) was making an FMV game and decided that it wasn't fun, but the development tools were. Because of this insight, we can all take 2 bit selfies for days. I wonder how long before my browser's built in spell check accepts "selfies." Yes, you. Do it. Though I don't know if you can beat Holmes and Love.more
