Get it while it's hot! Gas Powered Games released a demo for their upcoming RTS, Supreme Commander, earlier today. Including a portion of the Cybran campaign, a skirmish map, and three difficulty modes, this single-player demo should tide us over until the game hits stores on February 20th.
Unfortunately, the demo itself is just over 1GB in size and the server I've been downloading from is extremely full. As a result, it could be hours before I will be able to test drive what looks to be an amazing game. For those of you who were lucky enough to play already, how do you like it?
Download the Supreme Commander demo right here.
[Thanks, Ted]

"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Regardless I'll give it a proper play later in the week.
And I am downloading the demo, and I've heard good things about the game. Apparently PC Gamer has already reviewed it and gave it a 91%. I remember reading about the editors playing beta versions directly from Gas Powered Games. I'm guessing they made a grievous error and forgot to put the the D-toid editors on the mailing list?
Even though the masses of units crashing into each other isnt my RTS cup of tea (prefer Company) the moddability and the beauty of the game has drawn me into buying it. It's just well done, and a game this well done really should be supported, in a world of Vanguards and Maddens, a game that's done this well is just incredible.
It's really awesome, seems to be meeting my seven months of anticipation, but the menu at the bottom is way too big; I hope there's a way to change that. I don't like how the physical arena only takes up like half of the monitor.
