The Achievements for Sonic 4 have been revealed, and they point to yet more old-school shenanigans. We have learned that Super Sonic will return in Sega's big series reboot, along with the classic Chaos Emeralds. It's also worth pointing out that Sonic 4's Achievements indicate quite a robust and lengthy experience, despite the episodic nature of the game.
All seven Chaos Emeralds will be collectible in Sonic 4, and there's an Achievement for beating 1,000 enemies and gaining 99 lives. Hopefully this means there is lots of playtime attached to Episode One. In any case, there are twelve of the bastards, adding up to 200 Points in total. Now excuse me while I pop a boner thinking about this game some more.

THAT said, I know a lot of people have been wanting Super Sonic in the actual levels and not just the standard Super-Secret-Final-Boss-Fight stage, so good for them.

You can clear Emerald Hill Zone on Sonic 2 in thirty seconds. I think it's in keeping with old Sonic games.

I think he meant 200 achievement points per game, not 200 points to buy each episode...that would be almost too awesome.

I make a point of getting all the Emeralds in all sonic games as soon as possible, so this is great news. So they can all be collected in Episode 1, huh?

This just in: Sega meant there wouldn't be any extra characters in <i>the first episode</i> of Sonic 4. Episodes 2-12 will each star a different person.
4 Stages, 4 acts per zone. One in which being a boss stage. &+ Special Stages based on Sonic 1 Special Stages.
I can't imagine anyone wanting more Sonic to complete the plot.
