Super Smash Bros. page on the way photo

A little click here will take your wretched carcass over to the soon-to-launch official site for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the much anticipated Wii sequel to the popular Nintendo themed violence party.

I'm very easily confused, so I don't know if they're telling us the site is due to launch in seven days, or if that little black eldritch rune next to the number is supposed to be a number itself and they're going to make the site live in 78 days, which would be ridiculous and ... let's just say 7 days.

Damn. That is confusing. looks like we'll have to wait until tomorrow to see if it counts down to 77 or 6. I'm sure it's 7 days though.

That 'eldritch', if my memory serves me correctly, is the character for 'day' in japanese.

But I could be a moron.

Japan is like most of a day ahead of us. Shouldn't it be 8 in the US and 7 in Japan?

@bhive01:

You are right but didn't we (US) get the Wii before Japan?

DUN DUN DUN!

Ha, sorry Blindside, I did type up the Tingle stuff, but it was decided best not to post.

bhive01, it did cross my mind that the 8 could refer to Japan, but it would be odd that a Japanese game would have the 8 smaller than the 7 in an obscure manner. I'm guessing we just leave it at a week, I just enjoy throwing unwarranted confusion around.

I just hope that SSBB includes, oh, Idunno, ONLINE PLAY? Either that, or 8 players. 4 GC controllers + 4 classic controllers = crazy crazy SSBB glee.

-> who-the-fuck-is-jim sterling: Dr. rockso was correct, that there's the kanji for "day". You may (possibly) recognise it as the first symbol in "nihon". Unless you don't know much about japanese writing, in which case you probably don't. In any case, am I the only one tiring of these dramatic countdowns to utterly trivial events?

The Tingle rumor might have stemmed from the recent scans that showed some weird Tingle art. It was part of an art/design contest for readersn I believe.

No, that's clearly an 8 bhive. It's just using the wrong font. I'm sure they'll fix the CSS on the page later tomorrow.

I'll provide some examples of this in use.

"We've got to get the Delorean up to 日日 miles per hour to send you back to the future!"

日67-5309

日 Days a Week, as sung by the Beatles

The 日th wonder of the world.

People watch "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" an average of 日 times before they get the "Ni!" joke.

So as you can see, 日 is a pretty commonplace character, and should not be misconstrued or incorrectly associated with the kanji for day which is 夜.

Yeah, friend codes are a necessary evil for lil' kids though. Otherwise, perverts would use their wii to chastise innocent children. (tee hee.)

I don't think 8 is too many. It would be chaos. Delicious, delicious chaos.

@Canadian Geese:

I agree that it sucks but you don't need at LEAST [i]five(5)[/i} of those numbered points. 5-7 and 11 & 12 are just dumb and added just to overexaggerate.

When people exchange friend codes, you give your friend code to each other at the same time. That is what I have done in the past, who talks to a friend only to get their Wii Code and not bother to tell them yours.

Yes, there is definitely a hint of hate in those instructions. ;)

I'm so jaded on all consoles today.

My buddy just received his 5th 360 from MS Support, and it wasn't a new console like he was promised. It wasn't even clean. Halo 3 beta starts tomorrow!

The PS3 is too expensive and doesn't offer anything compelling yet, but I have this craving to play Shadow of the Colossus but I am not willing to buy a PS3 because of that game and I sold my PS2 already.

As for the Wii, I got a couple of hours in with Super Paper Mario this weekend, but spent my entire time reading boring text and flipping my fucking screen in hopes of finding an extra coin or two. And, Nintendo basically said "fuck online this generation. buy our gamecube 1.2 with special waggle controller and bask in the glory of shitty ports and sub-par 1st party graphics with recycled characters and game design. smile as we sit on your face and take a nice crap in your mouth and slap a Nintendo sticker on it."

...Thanks! I feel much better now. =)

Canadian Geese tries to be FAIR! Hating on all consoles...it seems your hate grew from 360 to Wii though, so there is more hate at the end!

Valid points though.

-> Geese: You deserve any and all misery for selling your ps2. It's still by far the best console on the market.

brad, but it was the PS2 I bought at launch. It was huge and acting kinda wonky. I traded it to a guy who gave me an xbox in return, and he had all the carpets in my condo professionally cleaned, and a he gave me a joint. I figured I could always pick up another PS2, but now I'd rather just wait to get a PS3 and get it all in one.

The difference being your PS2 can actually play PS2 games. So it's not really ALL in one.

For some reason, the Dojo part of the title makes me think they're going to do what they did with the Cube version and have it so you can have online matches on the pc. What I mean is, you can pick your character, pick three moves, and email that to your friend. He in turn does that too and your and his character battle it out. They better not do that cock tease shit again, argh!
