Super Smash Bros. Melee will be the eighth EVO game

11:30 PM on 02.01.2013

Registration for EVO now open too

The EVO charity drive has raised an amazing $225,744 for breast cancer research. Yay! And the game that brought in the most donations to become the eight game that will be played in the tournament? Super Smash Bros. Melee for the GameCube. That alone brought in $94,683 for the charity drive. I can't wait to see how a brawler does at EVO, that's for sure.

As for EVO itself, passes to the tournament have now gone on sale. There's a Competitor Pass for $50 that will get you in any of the tournaments you want to participate in, and access to the Alpha and Beta Halls. The Premium Pass runs for $40, and that lets you spectate any of the matches. Finally, there's the Event Pass for $20 that lets you spectate anything on Friday and Saturday, with limited access to the Beta Hall on Sunday. All passes will also net you a exclusive EVO 2013 t-shirt.
