Super Smash Bros. Brawl delayed in America and Japan photo

Visitors to the Smash DOJO today are in for some bad news. Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been delayed in both America and Japan:

Due to delays in the completion of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, we’ve had to change the release date of the game to Sunday, March 9th.

I deeply apologize to the people who have looked forward to playing the game for so long and ask that you hold on just a little longer. Thank you for your patience.

Rumors were flying around all over the place in the past week about the delay and now it's official. The Japanese version has also been pushed back to the 31st of this month as well. The European version is still set for when Hell freezes over. 

A month delay isn't too bad, but it still sad to hear this. At least I'll have more time to find a Wii now. How do you all feel about the delay?

Looks like the game might have been leaked. There was a fake leak awhile back, but this new leak seems legit.

If it is, my friend's got it torrenting right now. He ran it through a Hex Editor and confirmed that it seems to meet the requirements (the regional setting, the precise file size, etc.)

I'll post something tomorrow once he has it running.

I shall now quote something that was once said by a great man; "A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever". Words of wisdom? I think so. So going by that the European version due for release, probably around Christmas, is going to be so much more epic than your petty US release.

You know how they call heroin "Chasing the dragon", because you're chasing a high that you can never get. That's kind of how this game is. Every time we get close to the release date it gets delayed.

At least when it comes out in Japan at the end of this month(if it actually does) we'll know all of the characters and stuff.

Now that that's out of the way... it sucks, but at least it's just a month. I'd rather they get this done right than not have it done right and released on time.

Initially supposed to be a launch title, then it got pushed back a whole year, then, a few weeks prior to that date they push it back two months, and now another month... 15 months of delays is absurd. I'm beginning to think they should call this "Super Phantom Bros. Delay"
