Super Smash Bros Brawl creator hard at work on a new title photo

Super Smash Bros Brawl is at the heart of a rather amazing phenomena, which I was witness to at the recent Miami NARP. When we got there to set up, there were some students playing Brawl in the room adjacent to us. This was around 11 am. As the day went on, I noticed the same gamers still glued to the screen. By ten pm that night, they hadn't moved. ELEVEN HOURS of Super Smash Bros Brawl. It's rare that I've ever spent that much time on one game ... at least in such a big chunk of time, anyway.

Surely those same guys and countless other fans will be thrilled to hear that the creator of SSBB, Masahiro Sakurai, is hard at work creating a new title. On January 22nd of this year, Sakura's company, Sora Ltd., formed a new project in cahoots with Nintendo, which goes by the moniker of Project Sora.

All Sakurai had to say about the new project was, "I can promise an experience that's different from anything [you've played] up until now." I can't begin to imagine what that might be, but I'm sure you guys have some ideas, don't you?

This is the guy who created Kirby and a game that allowed Solid Snake to battle Sonic the Hedgehog. Sorry, Colette but, I do not have the slightest idea what this man and his team will create.

He looks like a delightful little imp that spreads magic and rainbows around the world.

Back the fuck up, Sakurai. That's Chad Concelmo's territory.

random conjecture time!
I'm saying it will be a GTA clone set in the mushroom kingdom where you play as kirby, of course they wont want an M rating so they will go all bugsy malone and have foam guns and custard pies.

Heh, I did the same thing when I first got played SSBB. I started playing Brawl with friends at 12 P.M. and didn't stop until 2 A.M.
I'm excited about this game anyway. I'm confident that he'll be able to bring something that hasn't been brought before.

*yawn* Yeah, because HD graphics will change the gameplay so-o-o-o much.

I'm not getting my hopes up just yet. Given his decent streak, he's about due for an embarrassing miss. Right, Miyamoto?

2 things that would make me shit myself with excitement:

Super Smash Bros. Rumble on the DS. It's been a long time coming.

Melee repackaged as Play on Wii, with a widescreen mode and a new online mode. I would re-buy the Wii just for this.

The first one is possible, and I actually think it'll happen eventually. The second one is just a dream.

Whatever he makes, I'm sure fans will get angry and yell "SAKURAIIII" annoyingly like they do now.

Sakurai: *Laughs*

In all seriousness, I couldn't second guess the ideas that come out of that man's head. All I know is that he needs to make another old school Kirby game some time soon.

If its a Kriby non-mini-game-compilation-thing for the Wii, I'll look deeper into it. For now, I'll keep Brawlin' with friends.
