Super rare Star Fox jacket for sale on eBay photo

Rare videogame collectors, get your wallets out. The sassy RawMeatCowboy over at GoNintendo came across this auction on eBay for a rare Star Fox jacket. The jacket was only given out to people that got specific high scores during the Star Fox Competition Nintendo hosted back in '93.

This jacket was only worn a couple of times and is a size medium. The auction also comes with a couple or rare Star Fox pins, the two original documentations Nintendo sent the seller and a copy of Star Fox for the Super Nintendo. Ten percent of the proceeds will go to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.

This story reminds me of the time I entered the Blockbuster World Video Game Championship II for Donkey Kong Country. I lost in the first round because I didn't understand what the hell I was supposed to do (I actually played through level like I normally would, finding the secrets and all). I did win a pack of awesome Marvel trading cards at least. So, who's going to try and get this jacket?

I have issue Number 1 of CRASH magazine which used to be a top magazine back in its day for the Spectrum (used to have 1st 100 issues until parents threw them out when I was at University, I kept issue number 1 seperate and thats how it survived the exodus).

Anyway it aint worth much but is my little proud ownership of memorabilia and a tiny part of computer/gaming related history.

Whats everyone elses? Got anything interesting, old or rare computer related?

We should all chip in and buy it, and then do a share time where we all mail it one another, sort of like that book about girls sharing a pair of jeans.

That would never work out, but imagine if it did...

@Hells_666
He didn't say he "won" the pack of cards, what he means to say is that they gave him the pack of cars as a "sorry you're not that great a this game" prize.

Please know how to speak/write properly before you try and insult me. Thanks.

eoaa nailed it though. It's still a win to me.

As someone who doesn't comment too often but regularly reads the comments I've gotta say that things seem to have taken a bad turn towards negativity and just plain suck lately.

Keep those bad thoughts in check people, or at least take them back to Gamefaqs or GT.

Also, Christian, its Friday night. What can you expect? An announcement for Super Mario Bros. 4? A smelly Starfox jacket isn't the last thing I would have preferred to see before hitting the sheets but hey, you gotta take what you get.

Peace people.

the 10% to charity thing always seems a bit iffy to me. Your supposed to give all the money to charity not use charity as a way to make more of a profit.

Ach I'm just jealous that I can't afford it.

Hamza provides another great contribution to Destructoid. It's amazing you can still find time to make these great posts outside of your brilliant YTMND Thursday posts.

Sweet. All the video game related paraphernalia I have is from when I worked at Gamestop (free preorder stuff). Elebits stuffed animals, Boogie disco ball, 8 bit Castlevania figure, etc.

The only "rare" thing I own is my BioShock Little Sister shirt, which I think only about 15 people outside of the company (Take 2) own.

Plus my signed RvB shirt from PAX.

I work for $10 an hour at a local Futureshop.

I have to pay my school $5000 for the next year (Canadian tuition fees rock! Suck it you lazy Americans!).

I WILL go into debt for this jacket. Thank you Mastercard and your trust in me!

I have this jacket hanging in my closet!!! I won the competition when I was a teenager in a Toys R Us on Long Island. I remember that day vividly - one of my crowning achievements in my gaming career! :-D

Hey - Anyone remember the Nintendo Power Fest(1990)?!
I had the pleasure of going to it! The memories are still fresh and clear! I can still recall playing Gremlins 2 for the NES! :)

@nintendoll, that shirt is awesome.

Man, they need to have more stuff like this these days. Another example is how you could sign up for free videogame comics for registering. I guess Rockstar is doing it with the social club.

I have one of these too. I got it from the traveling tour Nintendo did a year or two after that first competition. I got second place in my city, no thanks to Ken Griffey Jr's random BS (cost me a trip to California for the grand finale).

I got this jacket, choice of game (Plok! look it up, it's excellent), and something else I can't remember. Good times.

I got this jacket 4 pins and 2 t-shirts since I went to about 8 locations this event took place and smaked down that startfox champion ship cart at most the locations. "The wizard style"

and a hat from one of them.

never worn

Since they all ran indipendant I could go anywhere rack up the scores and get a prize everytime since starfox was new most people did not have the game and was clueless, the only threat was people who beat the real starfox game.

and i got a few extras

I got the flyer from the contest.

and what you can win bribe.

I bribed the contest runner to let me buy that special starfox cart used in the contest for $60 on the last day an hour of the weekend contest.

He is jsut selling a normal cart? lame.
