Super Metroid and Super Mario 64 posters are... SUPER!
[Update #2: Kit Sovereign is the artist responsible behind the Super Mario 64-themed poster. Check out the rest of his collection on his deviantART page!] [Update: And it looks like the Super Metroid poster is for sale! Thanks for the notice, guys!] If you explore the cavernous bowels of reddit long enough, you are bound to stumble across wonders that will put a smile on your face and a spring in your step. That's how I felt after catching wind of this pair of Nintendo-related posters. First up from user iwilding is a bitchin' Super Metroid "movie" poster. It's a very simple red-and-black number; I've always found a wealth of value and beauty in the simplest of art pieces. However, what sends this into god mode is the use of the negative space between the Metroid's mandibles to outline Samus' Varia suit. And is that Mother Brain disguised as the central node of the nucleus? Very friggin' clever! The other poster is a Super Mario 64-themed work from BigWillieStyle2k6. Entitled "Stars," it's a collage of 120 individual panels that represent each of the game's star missions. For instance, the first image is King Bob-omb, the guardian of the game's first star. The panels don't seem to be in any specific order, so try to see if you can match the pictures to the associated stars! I made this Super Metroid poster because the world needs more Metroid-related things [reddit] Did you know? You can now get daily or weekly email notifications when humans reply to your comments.
