Sup Holmes: Keeping it real with Shawn McGrath

2:45 PM on 06.24.2012

[Destructoid's Director of Communications Hamza Aziz asked Jonathan Holmes to make a show called 'Sup, Holmes?' so that Destructoid could later sell a t-shirt that says 'Sup, Holmes?' on it. This is that show. Subscribe to the podcast feed and find more episodes here.]

On this week's Sup, Holmes?, we'll be graced by the presence of the one and only Shawn McGrath, developer of the upcoming PSN title Dyad. Other than Koji "Tigerman" Igarashi, there is no one in the industry that rocks a cowboy hat as hard as Shawn. We'll be talking about what it's been like to work on a PSN game for nearly 2 years, why the games of Kenta Cho (the inspiration for Dyad) have failed to find the huge audience that they deserve, why he wanted to make a game about music that's not a "rhythm game," the pros and cons of attending E3, and much more.

We go live on Sunday, June 24th at 1pm PST/4pm EST, so please join us and make yourself famous. Now that the show is available on iTunes, A LOT more people are listening to it (thank you everyone!) so by asking us a question during the live recording, you can affecting the brains of thousands of people, maybe even billions. So jump in the chat an effect some brains!

Concrete Jungle combines city planning and deck building

As diverse and varied as games have become (particularly the independent scene), it can be easy to fall into a routine of only trying out titles with established gameplay. Part of what caught my eye about Concrete Jungle is ...more

Wow, a Humble Indie Bundle I'm going to buy

It's been some time since I've last gone in on a Humble Indie Bundle. These days, if a game is around long enough to wind up packaged at a discounted rate, it's already made its way into my library, or I'm just not interested...more

Laser Fury looks like Diablo but neon and radical

I do not mean to suggest that Diablo is not good, but the dreary look never really grabbed me, even with Diablo III's improvements in that respect. Laser Fury, on the other hand, takes a hold of my eyes immediately...more
