Sundays with Sagat: What's in a name?

[Sundays with Sagat is a video series where a man named Sagat talks to you about videogames. This is serious business.]

[WARNING] This video has swears. Also, the intro is loud, and the rest of the video is not (though we did manage to make thing more level than in the Youtube version). You folks at home would be wise to keep your trigger finger on the volume knob.

That's just one example of the beating that this video went through to make it into the world, and how worse for wear it is for the experience. We shot all of these Birdie-themed episodes of Sundays with Sagat weeks ago, and since then, they've almost been killed multiple times. Like a three legged, flea bitten, mangy mutt you got for free at the pound, the videos aren't going to win any beauty contests, but hopefully their scrappy, "should have been dead" style will make a few of you happy.

This week, Birdie looks at trends in the way that videogames are named. There are some names that he likes, and some that he doesn't. Either way, he feels feelings, and feels them hard.

Also, it's contest time. The person who can name the most games with the word "dead", "dark" or "war" in their titles wins Birdie's personal copies of Alone in the Dark, Dead Space: Extraction, and CoD: Modern Warfare (all on Wii), a Super Meat Boy sticker (because "dead", "dark" and "war" are the new "super"), and an autographed picture of Birdie himself. Different forms of those words count towards your score; "death", "darkness", "Red Dead", and even made-up words like "warcraft" all make the cut. Enter as many times as you want. You've got until the next time I post one of these videos, which will probably be next week.

And yes, I know that today is not Sunday, and I know that this video doesn't star Sagat. Read title of the post again. Maybe it will make more sense the second time.

[Update] It's come to my attention that because our Wednesday readership and our Sunday readership don't always overlap, that I should tell you Wednesday people that this series has been around for a while. Hit the jump for links to past entries.]
