I usually disagree with you left and right Summa but I'm agreeing with you almost completely on this (I still think the $15/month is expensive, at least for this low-income area). But even so, I think there's quite a few things keeping Blizzard from attracting a larger fanbase. I'm just too damn tired to come up with them. You did good for the time allotted.

If you bought 1 game a month you'd be pushing $600 so if WoW keeps you happy for 12 months and you pick up a couple of AAA titles too you'll break even.

BTW - I can't be arsed to go over it but at one point you said WoW kinda sucked and you don't play it and then you said if it was on the console you would (then got cut off so might have been talking about something else). Thats gotta be a contradiction record for you.

That chick was such a tool! What did anything she have to say be about PC Gaming winning the format war? What? One single game is what it's going to take? Just keep upgrading it and that's all we'll ever need??! Umm... sorry, but I like variety! I love my racing games, my first person shooters, my rpgs, my puzzles and everything else in between. WoW was fun, but I got bored pretty fast. Online gaming is great, but sometimes you just want to game on your own. Can WoW do that for you???

Hey, "crazasian" here. Sorry rob for interrupting. I was advised to "jump into dialogue" and to "be heated and energetic." But in the end, it was for a short segment and I'm sure we both had points that we couldn't really address.

Yes, I still think WoW is great and worth the money. I spent money on a PS3 and all I did was play half an hour of Resistance and of RR. That's just me. But man, XBL is my other drug of choice aside from warcrack.

The whole thing seemed forced and very 'G4' to me. Because, as we all know, people just discussing games isn't interesting </sarcasm>. I can just see a producer standing off to the side telling them what side of the 'issue' to take.
I like 1UP and Dtoid... G4 just makes me angry.

Way to go Summa, way to represent the console side of things. This comparison is ridiculous. The only thing WoW is hurting is OTHER PC DEVELOPERS! Will G4 get their head outta their asses and get in the LOOP for once? WoW's domination is hurting the pc gaming industry more than the console industry is. About the only threat pc gaming is having from the consoles is coming from the 360's penchant for FPSes and pc-style RPGs, though the most hardcore pc gamer will not give up his keyboard and mouse for a gamepad.

Ya know, it isn't a great comparison. But what I think (that I didn't get to share on the show) is that MS is pouring out money into the "Games for Windows" initiative and campaign and more or less in the future, as hardware develops, make it a tie-in for the Xbox franchise. Who knows.

PC gaming can even be regarded as a lure. As long as games bring people closer to PC products, then it will not die. It's depressing to think that gaming is lure for people to upgrade and buy more doodads for their PCs.
