Suikoden series DS game details photo

The newest in the Suikoden series is going portable, making an apperance on the Nintendo DS as Genso Suikoden Tierkreis.

According to Famitsu, Tierkreis begins after the final fight of the 108 Stars, where only four heroes remain. You'll play as a member of a peacekeeping group, fending off monsters and baddies attacking your village. While exploring the mountains near your village, you come upon a strange light, which marks the beginning of this new story.

Gameplay consists of parties of four at first, but this is a Suikoden game, so you know your party will grow to an insane size. You'll be able to pick from your group to make your party later, says IGN.

As of now, Suikoden Tierkreis is only 50% complete, and we're still waiting on a release date. For now, check out some Famitsu scans in our gallery.

I'm so glad I just got a DS, I love this series. Kinda wish it was a console game though.

Hell yes! A Suikoden game, and luckily I have a DS! The graphics look amazing, although I still am disppointed in looks like a 4-player battle system. Suikoden is meant to be 6 people in a group, dammit. Hopefully we'll learn just even the slightest tidbit of new info in this game of things like Harmonia or the Howling Voice Guild and other mysteries. But seeing as how in 5 + spinoffs we've learned almost jack squat, that may be too much to ask for. Still. Suikoden!

We at SuikoX are quite the happy forumites because of this announcement. Seems like someone read enough on this to figure out that the game will take place in and around the Nameless Lands.

Good to see Konami tapping that back catalogue more. I missed the PS1 Suikoden games, and the PS2 versions too. This will be a good time to join in the series.

Just don't forget to do Vandal Hearts too, Konami.

Suikoden hasn't been good since 2, not getting my hopes up for this.
