Suda 51 wants Travis Touchdown in Smash Bros. photo

He may not have set the world on fire with No More Heroes, but game designer and nutbag Goichi Suda wants Travis Touchdown in the next Super Smash Bros. game. Hoping to make Touchdown a big videogame star in his own right, Suda would love to see the nerdsome assassin duking it out with Mario and the gang.

"I love him, and I want him to be a huge star," Suda tells Nintendo Power. "That’s why I’m working very hard to make this game as interesting as possible. Maybe in the future, we can see him fighting alongside Link in the next Smash Bros. [laughs] That would be great."

As a big fan of Suda 51, I would like to see every wish of his come true. Considering Suda's close friendship with Hideo Kojima, whose very own Solid Snake was in Brawl, we could perhaps see this particular dream become a reality. Mainstream Wii owners probably wouldn't have the first clue who he is, but you can guarantee that he'd be a popular fixture among the hardcore set.

What do you say? Care for more Touchdown in your Smash Bros.?

I want Travis to be in the next Smash Bros!!!!! That would actually be awesome! Although who knows when the next Smash Bros might come out.. usually its one per system and I think the Wii might be around for longer

I've got no issue with Travis going in the next Smash Bros., but didn't Suda just come out and say that the Wii wasn't good enough to evolve the NMH franchise on?

"I'm thinking about breaking up with you, but will you still make a sex tape with me?"

i wouldn't care less for this, unless they make a smash as good as melee, I dont care if they put teletubbies or barbies.

Brawl was a TOTAL disappointment. WE WANT GAMEPLAY NOT CHARACTERS.

And I doubt there is anyone of you still playing brawl..
I played melee for over 6 years, and I couldnt play brawl for more than 6 days.

Who is with me?

That would definitely make me consider playing the franchise again. It really would.

can you say,first official Nintendo DLC?
oh wait no, you can't, because Nintendo lives in the stone ages and doesn't believe in gamers anymore.

@Toffy

I'm actually the same way! Years were spent playing Melee with friends. Brawl? Besides a one-off Brawl get together, it's been more than half a year since I've been able to enjoy a great Brawl party.

Anyways, Travis Touchdown in Smash = YES!

I'm gonna guess this Travis character is the dude in the jacket. Having to guess makes it pretty clear that this Touchdown dude (that's not his last name is it?), is not iconic.

Request denied.

Really don't think Nintendo would put this kind of character in their kid-friendly games. Dream on my friends.

That'd be interesting. And I'm with the other people about "not played Brawl for ages". I only play it at times when friends appear. I think they ought to make the next Smash completely in private. You know, just say "We're making Smash", wait a year or two, then come out with it. None of that DOJO stuff that just hyped everyone.

Complete with the unedited boss finishers from the American version, yes! Because seeing Mario being ripped into many blood-spurting pieces would be awesome in Smash!!

Well yeah. Travis Touchdown in Smash Bros sounds awesome. And while you're at it, get some Capcom characters in there! They totally have to give us Mega Man in the next one!

As an assist trophy? sure, I can see that
The saber as a weapon? oh hell yeah

@IsayIsay:

Except that they already have a lightsaber...

@LK404:

Megaman seems to be a much more requested character than Sonic... Hopefully Nintendo loves Capcom as much as they love Sega.

I could see it. Travis is so silly already that it wouldn't be hard to transfer him. His Beam Sword is obviously no issue (there is already a beam sword weapon in-game), he has a diverse moveset (Wrestling Throws), and he fits perfectly in the "and the Kitchen Sink too" Smash Bros. gameplay. Plus, Snake is from M-Rated games and Nintendo had no problem with him. Yeah, I'd love to see this come to fruition.

It's a little late for that. I would like for the next game to match the number of third-party characters with official characters.

There's a regular hammer and a golden hammer. Why not a regular saber and Travis' super saber?

Mega man won't be in smashbros, I doubt capcom would request for him to be in it. And his reputation isn't on the line like sonic's was. He was the second most popular voted in the last poll on who should be included. And Nintendo made no attempt to even ask. But no more heroes is is wii exclusive I'd say he has a better shot at getting in.
