Suda 51 interested in revisited Killer 7, Michigan photo

Eccentric game designer and Lucha Libra aficionado Suda Goichi has been chatting about the past, stating that he'd be interested in revisiting some of his old classics like Michigan: Report From Hell and Killer 7. Please, please, don't let us stop you, Suda!

"… I think that it would be very interesting to create something like Michigan again in the future -- it could be really good," says Suda. "I still talk to Sakurai-san, who is the president of Spike Games which was the publisher of Michigan. They’re also interested in making a game like that again in the future."

As far as Killer 7 goes, simply had this to say: "If I had the chance, that would be great too!"

I dare say it would be. Killer 7, for all its foibles, was one of my favorite games of the last generation. There has often been talk of a Wii version coming eventually, but I'd relish any chance to return to the twisted world of the Smiths and their many foes. Maybe if we ever got a sequel, we'd find out what the whole bloody thing was about!

OH MY GOD! SHIT DUDE!
Those games are awesome! Killer 7 is one of my favorite games of all times, even thinking of a "sequel" or look-a-like game would be just... too much dude!
Hope that this isn't just speaking and it becomes true! D:

I can't bring myself to play through Killer7: Only got to level 2. Maybe it was level 3. Whatever, i'd even accept a "New Play Control" version that makes it easier to aim!

Killer7 made be a Suda 51 fan. While the gameplay was average, the story,characters, dialogue, and music were amazing.I don't think we'll see a Killer7-inspired game anytime soon. A direct sequel seems even more unlikely given how unique the first game is.

A Wii port of Killer7 would be perfect fit for the Wii controls:

IR pointer = gun cursor

B = shoot

B + C = charge up for special weapon attack

A = move

A + control stick = select direction when at a junction

Z = scan area

C = down attack

nunchuck motion gesture = reload

I thought I would love Killer 7 but man I just couldn't bring myself to beat it. It just wasn't that great. I loved the atmospher and the story was interesting but if they do make a sequal they really need to change the gameplay.

Hiltz: Why the fuck would you waste time with the nunchuk? It's the most obvious thing in the world to just do it with the Wii remote. It's got more than enough buttons, no reason to waste time with the secondary controller.

But Capcom still holds the rights, I think, and I don't think they'd wanna make a game that can't sell 5 mil around the world. >_>

@ Jaff
I felt the same way through the entire game! But I forced myself through it because it's as if the game demanded it. And in the end I guess it paid off, the overall experience was great.

I recently bought Killer 7. To be honest, I don't like it very much. I'm starting to think the only Suda51 "thing" I'll ever really like is No More Heroes. I do love it though.

Killer 7 was one of my favourite games of the last generation.
One of the most bizarre, original games I've ever played.

Although, if I remember correctly, it only sold about 22,000 copies. I don't know what company would green light a sequel to that.

Michigan was a great idea, but it was a terrible game. I'd like him to have another go at that and get it right this time, but he should leave Killer 7 alone.

i couldn't stand to play through it due to the horrid controls, but i liked everything else. actually, i really wanted to finish it due to the story and graphic style, but the controls just killed it for me. with wii controls, this would be a must play game for me. really though, best game of last gen, jim?

My favourite of The Smith's foes were The Wedding Present or Inspiral Carpets.

Except for Flower, Sun and Rain. Sadly, I have no DS.

I don't claim to understand the story behind Killer7, although there's that gigantic analysis up at GameFAQS that's a hell of a read. But after you've hurtled down a few hallways, swearing and icing Smiles like a pro, you start to get what the game's about. I've never enjoyed reloading a gun as much as I have in this game.

Tatsunoko vs Capcom sold much, much more than Killer 7 just in Japan. Killer 7 was THAT bad of a seller. :(

Too bad. I love the game

New play control and a sequel would be perfect. Could do with more game like that for the wii.
If capcom own the game they should sell it to Suda51 and Viewtiful Joe to Shinji Mikami while they're there.

hated killer 7. in all seriousness tho, not sure if a direct squequel to that game makes all that much sense, but maybe something in the Killer7 universe wouldn't be out of the question.
